Wasting their time adding this to the highscores when they could just as easily be adding something else to them.

"you can turn off Prestige and revert to your previous skill level of 99."

Well how useless is that

Also, raising the xp cap from 200m would be a better way of doing this.

It's just to keep the competing players going.

Like it's gonna be a whole different hiscore I believe where you can race to like exp, but you will still keep your normal exp on the runescape hiscores, and still be motivated to compete if you're into that.

Like I said on forums.

This update is pointless. Why would I reset, work 2x harder than before when I can just make a new account and do the same.  But they're saying some kid who gets 99 def and resets would then be better than someone like me who has 109m xp in def and not reset.

People are saying its optional and it won't affect those who don't reset but it will, as you still have the people who will "brag".

Also, why can't they use the poll system for this kind of stuff. There are people with like 1300 ttl lvls saying woo awesome idea. If they didn't get 99 the first time they won't the second when it's harder either.

People are saying "we have nothing to work towards after 99."
~hi it's called 200m skills.

It's shitty updates like these which put me off from logging on.

I don't understand why they think it's a great idea to implement this - I can understand them wanting to reward people for getting these levels/xp instead of who "got it first" but I personally think the negatives outweigh the positives.

I feel like they are trying to fix a game which isn't broken and we all know how "fixing things which aren't broken" turn out.

Yay for 07.

They should just reset everyone and start from scratch every so often. For example, Diablo 2 had a seasonal ladder reset every so often, to keep it competitive. The old ladder worlds had their own server, while the new ladder also had its own.

They should approach it like this.

No.

This would effectively remove the entire point of grinding skills,

"Oh, so you just spent a month getting 99 Slayer? Nope, reset everyone, go spend another month getting it again before it resets!"

Essentially.

Tbh I am totally unsure of my opinion on this.. I kinda like the idea I can prestige in a skill and make it last longer but at the same time it's gonna be crazy!

I haven't even made max cape yet let alone have however many prestiges of max cape!

I guess we just watch this space and see how they play it..

Does this mean anyone can become a skiller, as long as they have maxed combat?
