PvP event
« on: April 26, 2015, 20:55:58 »
So, after a week of the possibility to battle, our pvp event has ended.
It went as follows:
PARTICIPANTS:
1. Boxout (137)     *battled*
2. zynconfiah (129) *battled*
3. Turdmoil (138)    *battled*
4. Powell (135)        *fights not done*
5. Metank (134)        *battled*
6. Tanakh (98) & XZX Amazing (117) *fights not done*
7. O lly (117) & Ava Logger (107)     *battled*
8. PvM Alty (138) *battled*

Rules:
BoB on request of player/team.
Stat boosting pots on request of player/team.
Prayers on, prayer restores allowed.

Reward: You will be judged based on expectations. If you exceed them the most, you get first spot. This reward system was decided upon to give the combat-lvlwise minorities an even chance at winning too. The rewards are 5m for the first and 2,5m for the second place
___________________________________________________________________________
Rankings:
6th: Powell/Tanakh + XZX Amazing - battles not done.
5th: Zynconfiah - because of not having a mouse, it's hard to switch priorities (healing hp, resetting smashed pray, setting up combos and especially those that require movement). I'd like to take you on when you have a mouse and if you wish/deem necessary, give you PvP practice/lessons in the near future.

4th: MeTank - You were on legacy, focused on the right things, healed and turned pray back on in time but just did not stand out. Like you said yourself, anyone with legacy turned on could do stuff like that. It wasn't bad at all, but legacy vs eoc makes it very hard to keep the upper hand for you and it's not like I didn't warn you about that beforehand.

3rd: Turdmoil - A clannie with good pvm/pvp skills. a formidable opponent who would have probably won a simple knockout tournament. However, this is more than a knockout tournament. To give the lower levels a chance at winning, you had to excess expectations and for someone with so much experience and skill, exceeding expectations is hard. I came closer than expected, as in got way closer than expected. Therefore I have decided to give you a third place instead.

2nd: The duo O lly and Ava Logger, together with PvM Alty. O lly and Ava Logger lived up to expectations, actually only 1 piece of food off, but they showed great teamwork (where one went full legacy, the other took care of my prayer, for example) and they tried giving eachother opportunities to heal.)
Alty wanted to take me on with melee, which was his first time melee pvping. He took up arms and got used to it pretty quickly, and in the end I won, but had a very hard time staying alive. For about 10 seconds I had to focus on healing completely because I was one hit away from dying as he set up dangerous combos.
That makes the second place a shared one. It's unfair to split such prize money between 3 people, because it's not very high (maybe for the time invested it is but that's it, as it took only like 15 minutes per participant). See below for the distribution of prize money.

1st: Boxout91. Congratulations noob, you stood out the most. I remember the last time we fought. When we started our session that last time, I wiped the floor with you 4x on 1 inventory of food. Our final fight, you made me eat half an inventory. I told you to go practice as I had nothing more to teach you, and so you did. I expected you to have grown better, leaving me with like 4-6 rocktails remaining before you made a mistake that let me drop you. Never was I more wrong.
You smashed me, comboed me, got me in a corner and sliced my throat just like that. Used your skills right, my combos didn't work and as a result - I lost. instead of leaving me with 4-6 rocktails remaining (no bob, with ovls) you had 8 left yourself and I was out of food, just like that. Therefore, you have won the challenge. You have improved your skill, learned from our fights and your time in practice, watched closely and struck right.

DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZE MONEY

While this is most probably the most important part for each one of you and don't give a fuck about what I wrote above, I'll make it speedy here. Team splits get rounded up to the mill above, the rest gets the amount called earlier.

Boxout - 5m
Alty - 2,5m
O lly - 2m  (2,5m / 2 = 1,25m -> rounded up = 2m)
Tinder - 2m (2,5m / 2 = 1,25m -> rounded up = 2m)

=======================================
A MESSAGE FOR THE FUTURE

I will be hosting these events more in the future, as also events for pvp practice, for those who wish to practice for things like warbands or defending theirselves in the wildy while running around/questing/fighting the chaos elemental boss and so on.
As you can see, with the altered reward system, lower levels have as much (or perhaps a slightly better) chance at winning rewards.
This was a starting event, to test things out, and those that joined it found it enjoyable. It works really well and I'm hoping to create and host larger scaled ones next time, with bigger prizes ofcourse.

========Thank you for participating, heads up for future events and stay cool ===========

because only 2 of the competiting teams logged on, it felt not fair to give out prizes already. So i lengthened the event till sunday evening.

Because of no further possibilities to battle the other two contestants, powell and the tanakh/thomas duo (which i've never seen on both at once, at least not when i was), i'm closing the contest. that means we have had 6 competiting teams.

Those eligible for rewards will be mentioned in the first post.
