I'm glad to be a part of this group! I first found RS back in 2004 and played hard through ~2010. At some point during high school I decided that girlfriends & reckless decisions were more fun than runescape and that I never needed to play again so I "quit". I checked back a few times up to 2013, but after that I was RS free for 7+ years... Until Now...
IRL I'm Mike, I love music, animals, outdoors, & learning new things. I'm a teacher/engineer and I live in California. I have 10+ years of teaching experience but no teaching credential, and a degree in engineering but no experience in the field - so there's that. Most of the things I do require being serious, formal, and precise most of the time so I usually enjoy throwing that out the window when I'm online (and when I cook).
A little over 1 year ago I had a sort of breakup with my best friends, then I quit my job to take care of my grandparents, then my grandpa passed away, and then covid came. So I've been less-than-great for a while. Getting back into this game has been a welcome escape from the current state of the world, and finding a ton of friendly people to play with has been really awesome.
(Back when I had a job to go to) I always dressed up in a suit & tie every Friday for my own occasion: "Fancy Friday". Why, you ask? Because I look and feel damn good in a suit, and that's the way I want to start my weekend.
Likewise, you won't catch Officer Papi slacking on his fashionscape. In-game you can catch me bankstanding while I'm toggling cosmetics, reading the entire wiki, or researching something random and unrelated to rs. Orr you might actually see me running around aimlessly because I like to do treasure trails without a guide.
