99 Woodcutting // A Reality For You // By Walt
« on: February 18, 2015, 05:38:14 »
Hey all! Welcome to my guide on 99 woodcutting. In this guide, I will explain the easiest way to 99 woodcutting. I will mainly focus on achieving 99 woodcutting as a skiller, but will cover methods exclusive to mains aswell. Let's go!

Bonuses:

Woodcutting urns can be filled and then released for extra experience.

The lumberjack outfit can be acquired from the Temple Trekking minigame. Each piece provides a 1% experience boost and a 5% bonus for the whole set.

Clan avatars provide a 3% exp bonus when on the same world as the clan avatar, or a 6% bonus when near clan avatar.

Beaver requires 33 summoning and provides an invisible boost of 2 woodcutting levels.

Axes:
Hatchets are relatively cheap. When you first start off this skill, depending on how far you want to go with the skill, I would recommend purchasing a Rune Hatchet. This will automatically upgrade your axe to the next tier up until you reach the level required for your Rune Hatchet. If you plan on going for 99 in the future, or all at once, I would recommend purchasing a Dragon Hatchet.

Inferno Adze:
The Inferno Adze acts as a Dragon Pickaxe with the added bonus that when chopping trees that produce logs, there is a chance that the adze will burn the logs for firemaking exp, and will not be deposited into your inventory.
Requirements:
Quests:
All Fired Up
Land of the Goblins
Troll Stronghold
Skills:
92 Firemaking
64 Agility
42 Construction
56 Smithing
59 Construction or 70 Smithing
60 Crafting
31 Prayer

Crystal Axe:
If you have access to Prifddinas, it is worth it to obtain the Crystal Hatchet as it is the quickest hatchet in the game. It can be obtained by exchanging a Dragon Hatchet and 4,000 Harmonic Dust to Lady Ithell. It requires 71 woodcutting for use.

Okay, now that all that is out of the way, let's begin!

Levels 1-15
From levels 1-15, you will want to cut Regular logs. These can be chopped all throughout Gielinor, but it is recommended that you chop them in front of the Draynor Manor is Draynor. They are clumped together and there is quite an abundance of the logs.

Levels 15-30/41
From levels 15-30 or from 15-41, you will be chopping Oak logs. I would recommend staying at oaks until 41 woodcutting when you have access to your Rune Hatchet, to make chopping Willow logs a lot quicker. The best place to cut Oak logs is near the Varrock West Bank or behind Draynor bank.

Levels 30-68
From levels 30-68, you will be chopping Willow logs. I would recommend staying here until 68 and not moving on to Maple logs. Maple logs may sell quickly on the Grand Exchange, but for a very low price, and at a very significantly slower rate than willows. I would also not recommend cutting Yew logs. I will not be covering Yew logs in this guide. If you are interested in making a small profit from Woodcutting, than go ahead. They are very slow experience and don't make much money. You can chop willows anywhere. If you are interested in banking, you can chop them at Draynor or near the deposit box at the Barbarian Outpost. If you aren't up to banking, you can powercut willows at any willow spot and use your action bar to quickly drop these logs.

Levels 68-90/94
From levels 68-90 or 68-94, you can either chop Teak logs at the Hardwood Grove near Tai Bwo Wannai, or chop Ivy at the various locations throughout Gielinor. I would recommend chopping Ivy as it requires a lot less attention and effort to cut, and the rates are minimally less than cutting teaks. If you want the extra experience, you can cut teaks. Be aware that as a skiller you will have to trap the snakes surrounding the trees and you will have to drop these logs using the action bar (no fun, right?). Make sure you bring urns when chopping teaks for maximum efficiency. Ivies will not require urns and do not produce any logs.

Elder Logs: Level 90
Elders logs can be chopped at level 90. If you are interested in cutting for profit, you can chop these logs. I will not be covering any profitable methods in this guide, but I thought I would give them a mention. I would recommend continuing ivy or teaks for 4 more levels and beginning with crystal trees.

Levels 90-94/99
As a skiller, I do not have access to these, but if you meet the requirements (atleast have started The Fremmenick Isles quest) and you want to achieve the best Woodcutting exp in the game, head to the Fremmenick Island of Neitiznot. To maximize efficiency here, bring urns. You can cut these until 94 or continue to 99.

Levels 94-99
Averaging about ~100k xp/hr with no bonuses at 99 woodcutting and a dragon hatchet, Crystal trees will be the best afk woodcutting experience in the game. There are 7 locations for these trees and will be covered more in depth in my Crystal tree guide below.

Crystal Tree Guide:

Hello and welcome to my in-depth guide for crystal trees. If you are unsure of how crystals trees work or are new to them, you are in the right place.

Quick rundown:
Crystal trees can be chopped at level 94 woodcutting and provide the fastest afk woodcutting experience in all of Gielinor. There is only 1 active tree at a time in Runescape. The active tree will change ~2 hours. There are 7 locations. The locations are as follows:

Locations:
Observatory
Yanille
Brimhaven
Falador
Seers Village/Camelot
Lighthouse
Gnome Stronghold

Map:

How to get to each tree:
Gnome Stronghold
To get to Gnome Stronghold you can either run from Eagle's Peak lodestone and run south until you reach the shortcut, or teleport to Al Kharid and use the Goblin Gliders to fly there if you have access.

Lighthouse
The quickest way to the lighthouse crystal tree would be to teleport to Relleka lodestone and run west until you reach the broken bridge. Cross the broken bridge and you're there!

Seer's Village/Camelot
To get to the Seer's village tree, teleport to Seer's village lodestone and run east until you reach the tree.

Falador
The easiest way to the Falador crystal tree is to teleport to the Falador lodestone and run torwards the Falador west bank, then cross through the broken wall.

Brimhaven
The quickest way here is to teleport to the Karamja lodestone and run north until you reach the tree.

Yanille
To reach the Yanille tree, teleport to the Yanille lodestone and run south behind the city. The tree is along the coast.

Observatory
The quickest way is to teleport to Castle Wars via Ring of Duelling and run north to the tree, or you can teleport to the Yanille lodestone, run west, and north to the observatory.

Want something easier than that?
I use this tool personally. It is made by a fellow Runescaper. You use the dropdown bar to select the tree's current selection. The tool will tell you where the next tree will be according to the ingame trees hints (If you select "Look at" on the ingame tree when it's inactive).
If you would rather rely on other players to tell you where the current location is, you can use an fc called 'Tree Hunt'. Upon joining the fc, ask something such as "Location?" and the members will give you a certain world and location. I wouldn't recommend this as you can't stay on clan ava world and it's so easy to find your own trees.
