Title: Skillcape Perks
Post by: RuneScape News on February 20, 2017, 15:43:47
Skillcape Perks

A skillcape is a RuneScape icon, and a true badge of honour. While the status and satisfaction that comes with those many hours of hard training is the true reward, there's no reason it can't be a boon on your adventures too.

That's why we've added a perk to each skillcape – each one a useful effect fitting in smoothly with its skill's playstyle.

There's one for every skill, and one for the Quest Point Cape, but it doesn't end there. Those of you who've earned the illustrious Max, Completionist or Trimmed Completionist capes can feed skillcapes to them, granting them up to three of the perks, which are shared across all of these capes. If you have three perks set and wish to replace one, you must first delete one that you have set.

Most are persistent, passive effects, but some are activated by right-clicking the cape.

Perks List

Enjoy!

These effects are worthy additions to your favourite capes' already formidable stats.

Have a great week, all of you. See you in-game, and don't forget to make the most of your Double XP tail-off period (http://services.runescape.com/m=news/a=12/c=lD1IKx-gX6c/double-xp-weekend-expanded)!

Can only see myself really using the slayer/Magic

possibly thieving and prayer if i decide to get 120 in those

Excellent potential with this update wasted but then again 99 in a skill is common these days so what could they have really done without being called easyscape/making them op

Invention and Ranged are pretty decent. As someone who's really poor, I look forward to saving those araxyte arrows and reduced drain rate ;)

Yeah, this sounds like an amazing perk at first, but then, this isn't really necessary at 99 cooking lol

You can still burn rocktails and cavefish at 99 without cooking gauntlets. So it's really not that bad, now you can use the full cooking outfit.

TFW Comp cape already acts as an Ava's device by default but you can still add a Ranged cape to it? :p

They all seem like fantastic perks if it was still 2008. I don't see any use in the vast majority of them.

If you own the sous chef mitts, you get their bonus while wearing cooking gauntlets. Nonetheless, it's a nice update for skillers who never got DTDs :p

I think most of the perks are quite alright. I can't evaluate the combat perks, but out of the others, it's only the firemaking, crafting, agility and construction that are useless to me (somewhat cooking as well, since I have the gauntlets)

A lot of these are sooo useless...for my Max cape I have the Slayer perk, Invention perk, and Ranging perk added. These are just useful to me when I slay. I also am using the Mining cape while afking at Seren stones, however this wasn't added to my max cape.

Some seem reasonable and some seem completely useless but at least there's something to get out of skillcapes now.

I'm going to assume he has them added to his max/comp cape. You can store a total of three perks there ^.^
