Free to Play Content Additions & NovtumberFest
This week we introduce a tome's worth of content additions for new players, including Fletching, quests, armour and more (scroll down). You'll also be able to take part in our new seasonal in-game event.
NovtumberFest
Russet leaves are falling where the Beach Party once thronged, and the inhabitants of Lumbridge are taking their gloves and scarves out of storage for another brisk, autumn season. Be that as it may, no amount of wind and cold can dampen their spirits. They're ready to celebrate once more – it's NovtumberFest!
Heady pints and eye-catching lederhosen abound for the next four weeks in this latest skilling extravaganza. You'll be able to train an agglomeration of skills – from slayer to prayer, farming to summoning – with no entry fee and no XP cap.
More the roaming, lone wolf type? Keep an eye out for Gunther's cart, which will be running into trouble every three hours in free-to-play areas. XP will flow for the adventurer who helps him out!
Rewards? Of course there will be rewards! Aside from the opportunity to train with your friends in style, we're offering a selection of NovtumberFest-themed pets, anims, outfits, gear and a 'Party Animal' title to those who give it their all – free players included.

Free to Play Content Additions
Yeah, you read that right. We're opening up a truckload of content to free players. Because, unlike those jumbo multipacks of chocolate, RuneScape is something that's genuinely better shared.
No point dallying. Here's the list of content that is now available to all:
Quests
- A Soul's Bane
- Priest in Peril
- Gertrude's Cat
- Missing, Presumed Death
- Perils of Ice Mountain, including the ability to smith pickaxes
- Song from the Depths and the first level of the grotworm cavern
- Broken Home, as well as the post-quest content (although the asylum surgeon's ring is still members-only); as such, the explorable area for free players has been expanded up to Morytania and the dig site at Silvarea
Skills and abilities
- Fletching
- All combat abilities (excluding Metamorphosis, Berserk and abilities unlocked by member’s content)
Weapons and armour
- Off-hand weapons
- Coifs
- Studded leather armour
- Hard leather chaps
- Hard leather cowl
- Spider silk shield
- Carapace shield
- Wizard armour, including the boots and shield
Extras
- Shooting Star D&D
- Evil Tree D&D
- Access to the Warrior's Guild (and defenders up to Rune!)
