Squeal of Fortune: The Lamp of Djinn

Squeal of Fortune: The Lamp of the Djinn

From tonight, you’ll be able to get your hands on the most powerful lamp RuneScape has ever seen. Bag yourself the Lamp of the Djinn, give it a rub and you’ll gain XP in all 25 skills!

Jump onto Squeal of Fortune tonight at 00:00 GMT (1am BST) and you’ll find a variety of new objects up for grabs.

Lamp parts can be assembled into genie lamps. You’ll also find them while skilling and as combat drops in game. There are 5 different types of lamp, and you’ll need to find 3 matching parts – pot, handle and spout – to assemble each one. Once complete - as you’d expect - rubbing your new lamp will give you XP. What’s special about these lamps is that you’ll get a choice of 5 skills to pick from. Choose one and you’ll receive a sizeable chunk of XP – as well as a smaller amount of XP in the 4 other skills.

The 5 varieties of lamp and their relevant skills are:

Ghul: Construction, Defence, Herblore, Mining and Woodcutting.

Ifrit: Cooking, Firemaking, Hunter, Slayer and Strength.

Marid: Attack, Dungeoneering, Farming, Fishing and Thieving.

Sila: Constitution, Magic, Prayer, Runecrafting and Summoning.

Vetal: Agility, Crafting, Fletching, Ranged and Smithing.

Amass all 5 genie lamps and combine them with a bottled genie to create the amazing Lamp of the Djinn. Bottled genies appear exclusively on Squeal of Fortune. Once you’ve got a Lamp of the Djinn, rubbing it will give you a healthy dose of XP in all 25 skills.

Additionally, there’s a chance to win a completed Lamp of the Djinn from the Squeal of Fortune.

You can trade lamp parts with other players for any that you may be missing, so be sure to mix and match with your friends to complete your lamp collection and step ever closer to that incredible 25 skill XP gain.

Please note: you can only trade lamp parts for other lamp parts, in equal quantities, and directly player to player.

For full details of how this works - and for any other questions - take a look at our FAQ.

The Lamp of the Djinn, bottled genies and lamp parts are up for grabs on the Squeal of Fortune from Friday 14th June 2013 00:00 GMT until Monday 24th June 23:59 GMT. After then, you’ll have until the end of June to trade lamp parts before they disappear from game.

Everyone gets at least one spin on the Squeal of Fortune per day, and can earn more through gameplay. Click here to find out how. If you'd like more, you can purchase spins here, or by clicking 'Add Spins' in the Squeal of Fortune interface. Don’t forget that members get two daily spins instead of one - along with all the other amazing content that membership brings!

Someone mentioned that you could disable combat XP from lamps. Does anyone have more details on this?

Does it give prayer and health though? Have you decided to start training those?

Yea, you still get hp and pray, but only the Sila lamp gives XP in pray and hp (or if you put all the 5 lamps together). I'm mainly interested in Slayer and it would have given strength XP as well. I don't want hp and pray XP, so even if I by some chance get enough pieces to put all 5 together, I won't :P
