I usually support Jagex with their updates even when people are complaining, But damn this might just push me off the quitting cliff.

If you're debating quitting over an update that won't affect anything big besides an individual hiscore you might aswell quit right now. If you don't like it just play without using the prestige system L

Pretty much my exact thoughts.
The thing is a lot of the people i have seen complaining about it are the high level competitive players, that care about their hiscore ranks.  ???

Runar, I'm usually on the exact same boat as you when it comes to updates you know this, I support the game and it's progression but when they release something like this that WILL split the community the exact same as 07 did due to people arguing about which highscores matter ect and just all the hard work that some people have put in to skills going to pretty much waste, Like myself getting 63m Woodcutting which will not go towards my prestige, It's something that really frustrates me, This is something that they should have put forward as a poll due to this being the "year of the player".

Valid point mate, but when it comes to it all, when they release this, if someone goes around saying they're better than others because they have prestige 1 in a skill they can fuck off, it's clear that the prestige thing is there to compete, or have fun with, and it doesn't really make anyone better than the other, it kinda sucks the way they're putting it out yes, because we've seen the success of the polls in 07 they should do them in eoc too, but I guess if they did, not a lot of updates would seem too "promising", where as in 07 they're doing the polls for updates they know people like.. eh, can't really do much about it, but really they should've just added in something cosmetic for people to show off "120" skills or 200m skills, maybe even make the 120 cape a cosmetic for people with 200m skills, idk.

Jmod said on twitter there would not be a max prestige, which means that the prestiges won't affect your total level/exp on hiscores, only on the individual hiscore, but there's gonna be an ultimate prestige (from a friend's video), if you reset every skill and max out you get the ultimate prestige cape or something.. Have fun doing 26m agil and 208m dg lelele if anyone does it

To be honest, I think only people with 200m and maxed players are complaining, I think this will give every day people a chance of their slice of rs fame.

I myself only ever wear a clan cape, no one looking at my pixels would know I have a 99

I doubt this will affect my feelings towards RS at all

The every day Runescape players won't be the ones up there though, It will be all the tryhards that we see at the top of the highscores at the moment I mean look at Divination, It was just all the maxed/comped players, I highly doubt every day people have enough time to put into the game to be a high prestige within it, Also they need at least 99 in the skill before they can prestige anyway, The update isn't needed.

So why have they updated it then?  There must be reasons behind it all?

To give people a "chance" to get up there, but really it's just going to be maxed players again, The every day player doesn't care enough about a rank within game they just play, Otherwise they would be maxed already lol.

All I heard from players were all the "good players" will quit, I asked them to define "good players"  al they could say were maxed, I disagree this makes them a good player

Do you not think this whole wanting to compete for ranks could have been solved by simply making a weekly, monthly & yearly highscores? and then have the all time, So if you want to compete against people you can compete for #1 this week or #1 this month or if you are really dedicated #1 this year.
