Donations are a legit way of making money. It's unmoral yes, but it's not like they are buying gp. & even if suomi didn't take donations he would have gotten 200m all already.

Honestly I feel like Runescape isn't a competition at all unless
A) Two players both agree on some sort of Race, doesn't really matter what
or
B) A new skill comes out and it's just a race to 99 or 200m.

Past that it's just really who can grind the most. I wouldn't really say that's competition.

On the topic of Sumoi getting his 200ms without donation.. I'm not sure.
I thought he did a lot of his 200ms without any help of an outside source. I would assume if he had to he could of been on the grind for money and it wouldn't of really deferred him too much.

Well i dont know if he would have have had them by this time, but eventually he would tho?
Because if you look at it, the donations did speed up a lot of his progress due to being able to do more efifcient methods with buyables.

I agree with Brad

You both are merely touching the surface of competition. I see competition everywhere - from skills, to PvM and I think that's it

Grinding is what you have to do to become one of the first players to achieve whatever. The competition is where you have to compete against other grinders worldwide doing exactly what you are doing
I still think that there is competition with the release of new skills
There was a competition on the HLF upon release of Divination - whoever signed up to the competition and got 99 first would receive something signed by a variety of Jagex Mods

Plenty of competition in that

Even if a new skill is released, grinding your way to 99 and 200m is still a competition

99 maybe, just whoever can play the longest and stay focused the longest. 200m in new skill, no you can use spins and bonus xp etc on it before anyone has chance to get close.

I agree that spins have DEFINITELY diminished the competetion for 200ms as you can see from Yo Blue, but that's a small case in the matter. Did anyone else really do that? On top of that fact that Drumgun still beat him, so it was still a pretty decent race.

Agreed with 99.
There was huge competition on the road to 99 between Mightiest and Im Choice

200m Divination wouldn't really be a good example of competition since Drumgun wrecked everyone

Drumgun is just a machine tho, and yes I bet quite a few bought spins for bonus xp in Divination (also for outfit) but not as much as Yo Blue did to be noticed for the quantity that they bought.
