In just one day we’ll be releasing the second batch of character names: beginning D-H.

Head back in-game on Wednesday 13th August at 1pm BST and select ‘change name’ in the Hero interface to secure the name you’ve had your eye on.

The list of character names will be published here and on the forums at the same time that the names are released. Check the list out for a little inspiration, but bear in mind that it will quickly become out of date as character names are taken.

We're publishing the list simultaneously with the release, as we have disabled the name checking function on the website in order to improve performance.

We're always looking for ways to improve things, so in response to your feedback, we’ve tweaked the process related to changing your character name.

For the first 24 hours, players who want to change their name will require a minimum total level of 1,000 to do so. This will allow players who have invested time in the game to grab the name they want before newer accounts.

Please note that you can change your name with 1000 total skill level in either RuneScape 3 or Old School. However, you will only be able to use the in-game name change function with 1000 levels in RuneScape 3 – if you only have 1000 skill levels in Old School, you’ll need to change your name by clicking ‘Account’ on the RuneScape website.

Once the 24 hours have passed all members will be able to have a go. Bond redemption will not be restricted based on level.

1000ttl? Thats nothing should be about 1500 at least bht then again that would screw f2p over either way the struggle for name changing will exist,hopefully they learn from their mistakes

You can just change your name on the homepage > account settings > display name.

i am not understand how the names release works. I am sure the name Georg Ohm should of been release havent played on that acc in 3 years.

So I entered right on time, kept trying to change my name

When I got the changing interface I entered "Evanescence" and it was clear, reached the confirming stage then kept clicking, it said server is busy

A few seconds later the name was taken

I am at work but used half of my lunch time to check what was available, got Gravestone but no intentions to keep it so if someone wants I'll freely open it

Changed name to Farcry, gonna keep it.

how does f2p go about looking at name availability? Not that i wanta any released name.
