A perfect place for discussion, yes.

But the past few "news" posts have only had posts of people crying about how they're sell outs and all that shit, it's not a place for discussion if you only see people crying over how bad an update is, or how bad a squeal promotion is, so unless people start posting something constructive about the update or something that show why they dislike the update rather than just "fucking sellouts" or "Omfg Jagex is so damn sad I can't believe this", then it could be unlocked, but until then I vote to just keep them locked, let people read about it and then they can probably discuss it in the ingame chat or something.

As was already stated. Just don't read them then. And not every post has but hey, if there's a sof/Solomon's update every week then tough crap I guess. People should e able to voice their opinions on it regardless.

Why does it matter if people post "shit update" or "More Jagex bollocks", you could always not read the RuneScape news threads and just read them on the actual site instead if it's such an eyesore for you to see what other people say.
