What future updates are you most excited about to see arrive to RS throughout the year and why?

Mining and Smithing rework
The rework will involve making the combat gear that is being created "more relevant to the levels that it is being worn at" as well as making the higher levels of the skills worthwhile.

Sliske's Countdown
The final four quests of the Sliske quest series are all planned to be released in 2016 as part of what Jagex are calling Sliske's Countdown.

Nomad's Elegy
Nomad's Elegy is an upcoming quest featuring Nomad that will be part of the Sliske quest series. It is expected to be released in the first half of 2016.

Ballad of the Barrows Brothers
Ballad of the Barrows Brothers is a quest planned for release in the first half of 2016. It will feature the barrows brothers and a previously unknown barrows sister and will be part of the Sliske quest series.

Fate of the Gods II
Fate of the Gods II is an upcoming quest that will be a sequel to Fate of the Gods as well as part of the Sliske quest series. It is expected to be released in the second 6 months of 2016.

Sliske's Endgame
Sliske's Endgame will be the finale of the Sliske quest series[1], it is planned for release in the second half of 2016

River of Blood
The final quest in the Myreque quest series, titled River of Blood, is expected to be released in the first half of 2016.

God Wars Dungeon 2
It was mentioned that 2016 will include another God Wars Dungeon reflecting the current, Sixth Age conflict. Concept art showed Airut, followers of Tuska, and elven followers of Seren. The dungeon may also come with new weapons - potentially godswords.

The new God Wars Dungeon will be a solo-oriented experience and will not involve elaborate mechanics (it will not necessarily require boss combat experience). The player will have to fight monsters to earn kill count, which allow them to unlock doors to fight the new bosses.

Solo boss
An example of how this boss might look like was revealed as being an underwater boss. It supposedly will "test the very best combat players" and involve new environments, and new mechanics.

More Raids
RuneFest 2015 revealed plans for more Raids on Mazcab, involving at least two new elemental-styled bosses, in a similar fashion to Yakamaru, which will be thunder and fire-based

Blood dye
A new dye for tier 90 power armour and weapons called blood dye will be released in the week beginning 18 January.

God book improvements
A future update to god books will give all the books equal stats: each god book will have the same Strength and Prayer bonuses and these will no longer be specific to one style of combat. Illuminated god books will have slightly better stats. God books will be made pocket slot items. It is also planned to give each book a passive effect based on special attacks of a relevant god e.g. Commander Zilyana for Saradomin's Book of Wisdom.

NXT
A new NXT game client aiming to give better performance to players is set for release in 2016. A live beta will precede the final release

God book improvements
RuneScape's first elite skill, Invention, is set to be released on 25 January 2016.

I'm really interested in the mining and smithing rework, it seems as if we'll be getting new ways of smithing new ores - as well as balancing the smithing table which is much needed!

Really looking forward to the new God Wars dungeon too, can't wait to see some of the items/bosses that we will have to face!

Invention, River of blood, Ballad of the Barrow Brothers, and NXT are also thing that I'm excited for!

NXT and I have always loved questing so it is great to see many upcoming quests

Only NXT really, because it's less CPU hungry and can make use of the GPU

Sliskes end game because I hate unfinished stories!

Mining and smithing rework is about the only thing I like from the list.

Having seen the list of Old school planned updates they sound MUCH better than the list for RS3 which is kind of depressing. Wish they would listen to what players want like they do in Osrs.
