Looks like there's some new content on the Treasure Hunter to go with the new year. I received some Battleships this morning and so I thought I'd write a post to let others know what they are and how they work. These are stackable Construction-based skill items which take around 3 - 4 seconds to construct from kit form. Upon construction of a Battleship you will receive xp equal to 50% of that which you would normally receive from a small prismatic lamp. You can then deploy the Battleship as a follower, choosing whether it will be accurate, defensive or aggressive ship, manned by fleas.
If your ship is deployed near another they will go to battle, fighting according to the stance that you chose. The outcome of a battle will most commonly be that one ship is sunk, the victor will then receive xp equal to 25% of that which you would normally receive from a small prismatic lamp, with their ship becoming a Toy Royal Battleship (Battleworn). On occasion the ships will agree on a truce with the message "After a valiant battle and much destruction, both ships settle on a truce and retire safely" being displayed in the chat box.
