Preparing for EoC - Combat
« on: November 14, 2012, 06:53:36 »
Now as the EoC is coming, there is a large stress on the Combat Triangle and Weaknesses.
Attacking with these styles provide a hefty damage bonus as well as hit chance, so it is recomenned that you use the correct style to defeat them.

This thread will help list the Monster new weakness so we can keep track of them and have the correct equipment before we go out and slay.

As a starter, I went and looked at majority of Kuradal's Slayer assignments and check out their weaknesses.
I do plan to add more, but it is a lot of work. : P

____________
Kuradal Tasks

Aberrant spectre - Thrown (Slayer Tower) / Arrows (Pollnivneach Slayer Dungeon)
Abyssal demon - Water spells > Abyssalbane bolts/arrows
Aquanite - Arrows
Black Demon - Bolts
Black Dragon - Arrows
Bloodveld - Thrown
Blue Dragon - Arrows
Dagannoth - Balmung / Unknown
Dark Beast - Bolts
Desert strykewyrm - Stab
Dust Devil - Crush
Fire Giant - Slash
Ganodermic Beast - Fire Spells
Gargoyle - Water Spells
Greater Demon - Bolts
Griolapine - Water Spells
Griolaroo - Earth Spells
Grotworm -  Bolts
Hellhound - Water Spells
Ice Strykewyrm - Fire Spells
Iron Dragon - Water Spells
Jungle Strykewyrm - Stab
Kalphite - Water Spells
Living Rock Creatures - Water Spells
Mithril Dragon - Earth Spells
Mutated Jadinko (baby) - Bolts
Nechryael - Water Spells
Skeleton Wyvern - Fire Spells
Spiritual Mages - Bolts (Armadyl, Saradomin, and Bandos), Arrows (Zamorak)
Steel Dragon - Water Spells
Suqah - Fire Spells
Terrordogs - Fire Spells
Vyrewatch - Blisterwood Weapons
Warped Tortoise - Bolts
Waterfiends - Bolts

Footnote - I don't think this means we HAVE to use the correct style, as they increased the chance to hit in the last patch, but I'm sure the bonuses will make it faster.
___________________________

Notes:
Chromatic Dragons seem weak to Arrows exclusively. Not sure for ALL of them though.
Metallic Dragons - All weak to a certain spell time, though this was a similar trait in the live game.
Strykewyrms - Weak to stab besides Ice Strykes, which is a similar trait to the live game.
Waterfiends no longer are weak to crush, rather just Bolts. I tested this (Before the accuracy patch, and Goliaths did not hit AT ALL).
I expected the Demons to be weak to Magic as they always had lesser defense to it.. wonder why it changed. :o
Lots of things to adapt to. :P

From the look of this list... There's only FOUR monsters weak to melee itself, LOTS to Bolts, and then a variety of Magic.
Little concerning for training via slayer. :P

Perhaps I'll organize this a bit more, and please post monsters you see while playing so I can make a list for them too.

Thanks for posting this, I'm sure it'll help many combatters in the clan with Slayer. It sucks most of their weaknesses are range/mage based though.

I thought Mage and Range were the best methods to slay, so I don't see why it's bad..

Isn't slay 100k+/hr with no afk in EoC?

I guess the issue would be training Attack, Strength, and Defence through slayer. Mage and Range are more costly, whereas armour and weapons for melee-based combat is a one time fee.

This was my concern.
I wanted to train most of my melee stats through slayer as it would allow me to gain money and not afk them, but that's not the case here. ^^

Which tasks should be blocked now? Do any of the tasks have any alternate methods which can be used, just slightly slower?

Hellhound - Water Spells

I tried water spells on Hellhounds and they are always splashing, Hellhounds are weak to slash :)
