Earning free Runecoins
« on: March 28, 2014, 17:28:19 »
So the other day Jagex released a way of getting free Runecoins from doing different things. If you go to the store it will have this at the top:

Clicking earn will take you to all the promotions. Each one gives a different amount of coins.

I'll be trying some later. Please post any ones that you manage to get to work and how many runecoins they give and they will be listed here for others to try.

Ones that work -

Total Runecoins I've earnt: 198

The videos seem to give a pathetic amount but they have a timer which I assume after the timer expires you can watch them again for more coins.
Edit: Time would end at midnight, so I assume once a day.

This is such a rip off. You can do the same thing (complete surveys, etc) on a rewards website to earn real cash and buy the runecoins if you so chose to. Would never waste my time with this.

I've tried this on kind of thing on those websites before Zach, I've never found one to work, I think if you convert Runecoins to actual money these are more valuable as well, I also trust Jagex to pick ones that work compared to a company I don't know at all

I've done a few of them and they are pending (haven't received the runecoins but I've done). They're pretty slow work and it's a lot of signing up and filling surveys. A lot of them are on your phone as well. Not sure if they're worth doing.

Well the things we can choose between is different from country to country, 1 of them sends me 20 mails a day, glad I could unsubscribe afterwards though.

I wont say it's worth it.

Thought about doing one for Swagbucks.
1.7K runecoins for getting 450 Swagdollars, only had to spend $10 usd to get that.
We'll see :P

I'd be a little wary here and remember than when you're getting something for free then you must be the product. In this case, you might find yourself giving out some information you'd rather wasn't public knowledge to the ether to be passed on and sold.

All the ones I signed up for I made up the information and put fake phone numbers but used my email that I have for my Pluto account.

I got about 330 runecoins but took ages and about 5 things are pending without giving me any so I'd say it's a waste of time.

What made me laugh is there is a Cadbury's offer and you get about 18 runecoins for every $5 you spend.

For some reason, every time I press the "earn" button on Solomon's store, it loads for a bit then returns to the store. Then nothing happens. I wondered if it was my ad blocker, so I turned it off, but it's still doing it. Anybody else experiencing this? I'm just interested to see how this all works, but I can't do anything :|

Double posting ftw

Was trying to find a solution online and came across this reddit thread:

Quote
If you are not aware Runescape recently made a change to how Runecoins can be earned, now you can earn them by downloading software or doing surveys however many of these are viruses, adware, scareware, keyloggers or spam.

A very simple way to get these great offers without viruses and etc. is with a program called "Sandboxie" or an equivalent. http://www.sandboxie.com/ (make sure you load the offer via sandboxie) what Sandboxie does is it launches a browser that when anything is downloaded it cannot affect your operating system in any way. you can also easily delete anything that is downloaded.
Also for surveys and such that require an email use a mailinator account. http://mailinator.com/ You simply enter any email with no password (for example enter [email protected]) then check it thus avoiding spam and making an email and checking it is very easy.

If you have already used some of the offers then i suggest doing a scan with malwarebytes because you probably have adware https://www.malwarebytes.org/
Source

Has anybody used these sandboxie and mailinator things before?
