Archaeology confirmed - New 120 Skill!

Archaeology has been confirmed and will be Runescapes newest 120 skill, soonTM.

What we know so far:
  • It is not an elite skill.  This means 120 will take 104M XP, the same as Dungeoneering
  • Relics will provide permanent passive effects, example of which can be seen here
  • 120 Archaelogy cape design
  • Archie, the skilling pet.
  • Gameplay loop seems to be dig up finds, collect dust/artefacts, use artefacts to restore relics and use dust to get more artefacts
  • Multiple sites, tutorial site seems to be the Digsite area
  • Huge list of new locations and unlocks can be seen here

I really like this idea. A clan race to 99 and another race to 120. With a HUGE prize give away for it.

RIP max guild, but looking forward to it at least it's not a complete money sink. That cape's not too shabby either <3 good luck with the gainz race to 99 leggo!

@Alaklondewen  Could be worse.  You have 1 skill to focus on for a month or so then you have full access again.  I still have a long way to go so I'd gladly trade places with you. :P

stupid question maybe, but will the skill be p2p-only or can all players do the new skill? =) Is there any announcement about that?

I think they said it was a skill f2p could level to I think 20?  And then you would need to have P2P to level it any further.
