Great Orb Project event
« on: March 05, 2016, 15:49:52 »
We'll be playing two games of Great Orb Project on Wednesday the 9th of March at 19:00 game time, World 25. To make it fair, we'll go with 50/50 (both teams win 4 altars each) so that everyone gets the same amount of tokens.

I'm gonna try and be there for this. It's only 2pm though so hopefully I can make it.

Definitely want to try and get at least one game done so I can complete Morytania tasks.

You basically have a wand - the wand can push or pull the yellow/green orbs (depends on which team you are on) and you have to get your colored orbs close very close to the runecrafting alter (the location of the game shifts between the runecrafting alters during the game - I think it's 2 minute per alter). You can also pull or push the other teams orbs away, making it harder for them to score points. You can also choose to use your barrier generator to obviously make a barrier. This acts like a wall, so that the other team can't get their orbs past them - they have to be destroyed to get the orbs past that wall.

Not much more to say - you get one point for each alter you win (to win an alter you have to get the most orbs).

The object of the game is to pull your team's orbs to the altar. The team with most scored orbs wins the altar!

I used to be quite good at GOP. Will be there for sure.

One question though; Red you mentioned we'll go 50/50, so does this mean the two teams race for 4 altars and then we balance the score out to make it 50/50 ?

I figured we'd play 3311 (standard 50/50 rules. e.g. yellow wins 3, green 3, yellow 1, green 1) or 44 to make it even simpler. It's not as fun playing 50/50, but seeing as most people who play GOP really need the tokens for the BXP outfit, I don't want them to end up with 80 tokens if they are on the losing team

We could play competitively for the first 4 altars I suppose and then make it 50/50 if it doesn't cause confusion
