Nex Event - 25th January 2014
Ok, so Nex is on a whole new level of PvM'ing and requires a lot more skill compared to the Corporeal Beast event we had earlier. I will try to be as thorough as possible, as a few participants have never been/killed Nex before.
Time/Date:Time: 3-4 PM GMT
Date: Saturday 25th January
Requirements:Suggested to have at least 80+ combat stats in a mass, and at least 90+ combat stats in a smaller team
Frozen key a
must - this is created by combining four key pieces dropped by a combatant of the other four gods in the God Wars Dungeon
Ancient ceremonial set is a
must - this negates the need to gather 40 Zaros kill count. The set includes the mask, robe top, robe bottoms, gloves and boots. The entire set is 250k.
Armour and weaponry - obvious necessity
Devotion ability from World Event 2 isn't needed but really helps out for more kills per trip
Meeting Place:Nex bank
How to get there:Best method to get to the Nex bank is to complete the quest
Love Story, so that you are able to create chipped teleport tabs to Trollheim. It is HIGHLY recommended that you bring food and armour on your way to the Nex bank, as the God Wars Dungeon and Zaros creatures are capable of killing you with ease. A way to counteract the God Wars Dungeon creatures is to wear a Nex item. This includes any of the Torva, Pernix or Virtus pieces. A frozen key and the ancient ceremonial set is required to gain access to Nex's lair.
From this point on, use the shortcuts and follow the route until you reach a boulder. Squeeze past the boulder and up and run north and down the entrance.
NOTE: If this is your first time going to the God Wars Dungeon, rope is required
After going down the rope, run directly south from your current position with an equipped Nex item to prevent the God Wars creatures from attacking you. Your frozen key will lose a charge as you go through the door. Climb down the stairs and jump through the door and make your way to the bank before Nex's lair.

StrategyThere are five phases which you undergo whilst fighting Nex, I will break this section of the guide into the five section, and go through it in as much detail as possible. Be sure to have the ability incite off unless you are the tanker.Smoke PhaseThe first phase of Nex, have the tanker start in the middle of the Nex room where Nex spawns, and have the rest of the team using shield abilities to build adrenaline on the first Nex minion; Fumus.
Before fighting Nex, be sure to drink a sip of Overload and Prayer Renewal, turn on any auras and scrimshaws, and be sure to use the prayers 'deflect from magic, protect item and turmoil/torment.
Wait for the tanker to drag Nex up to the south side if Nex's lair before attacking. This is to ensure that you are in safe range when she calls '
There is .... NO ESCAPE. If you are in her way, she will drag you into the middle and stun you, dealing roughly 4000+ damage and turning off your prayers. The tanker should be protecting from melee and the rest of the team should be on the opposite side of the tanker. Use the ability
anticipate whenever it is available, to help prevent Nex from dragging you towards her and turning off your prayers. If you do happen to get dragged, use
freedom as soon as possible and wait for the two second delay before turning on deflect from magic again. Once Nex is down to 160,000 hitpoints, she will call her her minion Fumus, which must be killed before proceeding to the next phase. In a duo, it is best to use range against Fumus, in a trio use melee, in a mass use melee.
Shadow PhaseOnce Fumus has been killed, have the tanker tag Nex to move onto the Shadow phase. Once this phase has started, turn on 'deflect from range', as Nex will use shadow attacks in the form of a range attack. Experienced Nexers can prayer Soul Split for the first few seconds of this phase and then switch to 'deflect from range' after, although this is not necessary and it is often better to be safe. Once again, be on the opposite side of the tanker and use basic abilities until you work up to a threshold or ultimate. The best ultimate to use for this phase would either be Berserk > Massacre. Once in a while, Nex will call out 'Fear the Shadows' and cast a Shadow directly underneath each player near her. It is important to move at least one square away from that shadow, or you will be hit up to 3500 typeless damage. Upon the start of the Shadow phase, Nex will be using her special move 'Embrace darkness' which means if you stay within melee distance of Nex for more than two basic ability uses, her shadows will begin to consume you, dealing up to 600-800 typeless damage every tick which will kill you very quickly. If you are using melee to kill Nex, it is best to use two basic abilities on Nex, run 3-4 squares away and repeat until you have enough adrenaline for an ultimate. If you are using magic to kill Nex, stay a safe distance away and just avoid her shadow traps underneath you, you do not have to worry about 'Embrace darkness', as you are not in melee distance of Nex. Once Nex is down to 120,000 hitpoints, she will call for her second minion; Umbra. Run to the northwest side of the Nex room and kill Umbra. While this is happening, the tanker should lure Nex into the middle of the room and stand on the eastern part on the north side of Nex's room. After killing Umbra, the tanker will tag Nex and move onto Blood Phase.
Blood PhaseOnce blood phase has started, you are able to stay in melee distance behind Nex and turn on Soul Split a bit of lifepoints. Either use Soul Split of 'deflect from magic'. This is by far the most difficult phase in a solo. During this phase, Nex will summon 2-3 blood reavers which she sacrifices to heal later on during the phase. In a mass, all that's needed is to spam basic abilities and use thresholds such as 'Assault' and 'Destroy' whenever possible. It is important for the tanker and rest of the team to be in melee distance of Nex, tanker on the opposite side to the rest of the team. After a short time, Nex will ask for a blood sacrifice and this
MUST be escaped from if in a smaller team of Nex. However in a mass, it isn't needed to escape from it. If you do not escape from it, Nex damages you for ~900 typeless damage and heals for over 10,000 lifepoints. Blood phase is all about dps, and if Nex is not brought down to 80,000 lifepoints fast enough, she will devour the blood reavers she summoned earlier, healing for the amount of lifepoints that the reavers originally had. This means that if not enough damage is dealt towards Nex, she is capable of healing well over the original 120,000 lifepoints she had from the start of this phase. Once Nex is down to 80,000 lifepoints, she will call for her third minion; Cruor. It is also
VERY important to not use bleed abilities such as Massacre, as she heals off bleed abilities in Blood Phase. Have the tanker switch to a shield and main-hand weapon switch at this point, and build up to 100% adrenaline to get ready for Ice Phase. After Cruor is dead, let the tanker tag Nex. It is important that no one else tags Nex because she will turn agressive on you and prison you in her ice stalagmites.
Ice PhaseAt the beginning of Ice Phase, Nex is either going to use her special move 'Contain this' or use her ice prisons. There is a little trick to be able to tell which move she will do first. During Blood Phase, if you kill Curor while she is siphoning, then she will use an ice prison on the tanker on Ice Phase. However if you kill Cruor while she has asked for a blood sacrifice, she will use 'Contain this' on Ice Phase. As a tanker, it is essential that you keep Nex off the rest of the team, as they do not have a shield and cannot block from her ice prisons. When Nex traps the tanker in her ice prison, the tanker has to use the ability 'Freedom', then either use the ability 'Barricade' or 'Immortality. What Barricade does it basically summons an impenetrable barrier which prevents ALL damage received for 10 seconds, and what Immortality does is brings you back to life for roughly 4500 life points, should you die within 30 seconds of activating the ability. It also reduces all damage by 25%. This includes typless damage. Experienced tankers can use the ability 'Anticipate' just before she ice prisons you, although this gives the same effect as 'Freedom' anyway. As the role of a dps, it is best to use Berserk on this phase to get finish off this phase fast and make it easier for the tanker. After she ice prisons the tanker, she will use her special move 'Contain this' which creates a 3x3 barrier around her. Any players caught in this barrier will be dealt for up to 3500 damage, stunned, and have their prayers turned off. Once Nex is down to 40,000 lifepoints, she will call for her final minion; Glacies. If Glacies is not killed fast enough, Nex will trap the tanker into yet another prison. By now the tanker should have built another 100% adrenaline bar with the help of the ring of vigour and an adrenaline potion. Once trapped inside the second prison, use 'Freedom' and then the ability you did not use in the first prison (either Barricade or Immortality). Should your team not be able to kill Glacies yet (which is extremely highly unlikely), you can use the ability 'Rejuvenate' to 'tank' the third prison. It is important to keep a close watch on your prayer points, as Ice Phase drains your prayer rapidly. Once Glacies is dead, have the tanker tag Nex and move onto the final stage.
Zaros PhaseThis is the longest phase of the entire kill. Once Glacies is dead, nex will heal an extra 40,000 life points (from 40,000 to 80,000) and her attack and defence is significantly higher. During this stage, Nex will switch between Soul Split, Deflect from Melee, Deflect from Range and Deflect from Magic. At this point, if you were using Melee from the start, it is best to switch to a Range weapon now, as Nex does not deflect from Range as often as Melee. As always, be sure to stay on the opposite side of the tanker so you receive less damage from Nex. As a tanker, you should be using shield abilities as much as possible. 'Resonance' is one of the best. The next attack you receive within 6 seconds will heal you rather than harm you. This ability is capable of healing up to 4500 lifepoints from a single hit! Be sure to keep your prayer up, as Nex can hit up to 4500+ damage if you are not praying. She is also able to hit 1000-2000 damage through your prayers, so use Devotion whenever it is available. Once Nex has been killed, she will switch to Wrath, which will damage you for up to 3000 to all nearby players. You are given about two seconds to run out of her Wrath distance. The drop is awarded to whoever deals the most damage to Nex throughout the entire kill. This does not include damage to minions.
