I am suggesting a Monthly skill race where 2 teams of 2 compete to get more xp than the other team in the particular skill that they sign up for. All skills will be utilized, combat or not. This makes for some friendly competition.

Here's a blueprint of what im trying to talk about, i can't really think of something good to say.

Cooking
Team A : Player1, Player2 -- Starting XP (10,000,000), Ending XP (15,000,000)
Team B:  Player3, Player4 -- Starting XP (7,500,000), Ending XP (9,500,000)

Results : Team A (5,000,000 XP gained), Team B (2,000,000 XP gained)

Winners : Team A

Mining
Team A : Player5, Player6 -- Starting XP (56,000), Ending XP (265,000)
Team B:  Player7, Player8 -- Starting XP (1,500,000), Ending XP (2,600,000)

Results : Team A (209,000 XP gained), Team B (1,100,000 XP gained)

Winners : Team B

I was thinking that this wasnt the same as the intra-clan skill war, mainly because you don't have to vote for the skill, you just signup. I really cannot elaborate more, because i can barely think atm. So i'll edit this when i can actually think. Just give me some feedback, whether you like this idea or not.

Good healthy competition always is a good way to motivate people.

How would this work with the inter clan wars? 

I like the idea but we have to make sure that we don't have too much competitions/skill races as then people will moan for not being able to train the skill they want to train or they'll simply not attend.

The good side of your idea is that people don't have to vote for the skill being competed in, it just gets picked and you can sign up if you want. Though if a skill gets picked (e.g: Cooking/Woodcutting) in which many people already have 99, fewer people will sign up.

On the other hand i'm not really sure about the 2 players/team, what'll you do if for exemple 20 players sign up? :p
