Buried Treasure...
« on: November 06, 2012, 20:02:20 »
So, I hear rumors that there's a great treasure buried somewhere in the land of Runescape. I have contacts that can get me clues for you all so that you can find this treasure. These clues may take a bit of wit to solve, but rest assured lads and lasses, the treasure will be well worth the trouble it takes...

My contact says that he'll have a total of 4 days worth of clues, one each week on wednesday. As soon as I get them, I'll post them here for you, just as they're delivered to me.  I should have the first clue up tomorrow.

May the best treasure hunter win.

Please note, all clan rules and regulations apply. Prizes based on who solves all clues first, pm me with any/all questions.

~~~DAY ONE!~~~
   It started out like any other day. Mathi was just walking along, because, that's just what he does.. when out of Nowhere, a strange old man started chasing him. Obviously creeped out, because the man had clearly not showered in exactly 42 days, (mind you, how Mathi knew this is beyond all reasonable knowledge) Mathi started sprinting away. Unfortunately the man caught up and started to talk to mathi in some sort of hobo language, the best of which I have transcribed below
"Euhuh teak dis!@ Euhuh git dem rishes~!@@#" (again, this is hobo speak, so I do apologize) said the hobo
"Erm can I help you?" Mathi said, clearly creeped out by this rancid smelling man.
"EUHUH TEAK DIS PEAPER. IT DEH eINfinite END PUDDLE DAHT LEAD TO DEM RISHES~" the creepy old man (we'll call him frank) said, shoving a paper that was almost as smelly as he was into Mathi's hands before walking off in his hobo-like way
"okayyyy" Mathi said, before examining the paper.
...
Later that evening, mathi had managed to make a copy of the puzzle on paper that didn't smell like hobo, and decided to take a look and see just what it was the hobo was so desperate to tell him. Having little luck, he gave me a copy, which I'm providing now:
Mathi thinks that maybe the Hobo wasn't crazy and that solving these clues might lead to a great treasure... But only time will tell.
Of course, you can discuss it. Keep in mind, there's only one top prize though (depending on interest, there may be lower prizes)
It's a tough one! At a second scrutiny, I realize that my initial guess(es) may very well be way off, since I missed quite a bit when I found them. Unfortunately, my new discoveries aren't any helpful. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm taking the wrong approach altogether. Oh well, I will probably take another look at it tomorrow. :P
