An Invite to PvM'ers
« on: November 03, 2014, 17:14:55 »
So I'm bored, poor and need motivation to do PvM for money.

So, the idea is to do a kind of race to be the first to obtain all possible drops solo from a selection of different bosses. As I know very few - if any Consentus members do a lot of high level PvM several bosses will be missing (Vorago, RoTS, KK, Nex, Legiones and Araxxi)  as well as several low level bosses due to low gp/h, lack of rare specific drops (KQ, KBD and Kiln) , and just generally bad to kill (looking at you Chaos Ele and Mole - also regular Barrows) I'm also excluding Corp due to rare drops, (1/512 ain't no fun), slow kills, and the fact that some will struggle to solo it.

Warpriest and Ability drops, as well as GS shards are excluded from all GWD bosses.

Any non-solo drops will not count.

I'm not sure what would be the best way to have a competition about this, I'm torn between a kind of league table with every individual drop adding +1 to the count and being scored off, until complete. Or just having a straight race to every drop.  Although if no one is interested it doesn't matter much :P

OK, so the bosses.

I'll include a code if anyone interested in joining wants to include it in posts as they update.

(click to show/hide)

If people who might want to join wish, they can include a before (and I suppose an after :P ) picture of their boss kills to see how long it takes.

Like this:

Anyone can join! Even if you don't think you're going to do a lot, it's just for fun and motivation!   ✓  ✓  ✓

O again in case more than 1 person wants to join (idk) no drops will count until the 6th of November begins

Sounds fun. But I can't join. Good luck.

It would be good to do something similar for osrs bosses but that will never happen.

Very interesting idea and sounds like it would be fun to people who enjoy the combat, but aren't some boss drops extremely rare?

I'm not 100% on each drop rate, I believe the rate for any GWD drop is 1/128, DKS 1/128, QBD the rates are much better, with only Visage being over 1/100, and I believe the Royal parts being 1/32 or 1/64

Obviously if you get unlucky you could go a looot of kills before getting a specific one, but meh, that's why it's a race, and not just the first to kill a number of bosses :P

Oh ok, it's been a long time since I've done combat but I thought the drop rates were a lot rarer than that. Should be a good competition spanning a few days maybe if it takes off :)

It's that for -any- of the items, for a specific one (say Sara Hilt) it would be 6 x 128 (6 of those drops - I think this is right), so a 1/768 chance for a hilt, which makes something like this pretty RNG based, as well as speed and time invested.

Thanks :>

If you wanna take part don't worry about how much free time you have, it's just for fun and even if you don't   come first you can still try and beat others anyway ~

Gonna revoke that 6th of Nov thing, cba, was to give more people time to read it if they wanted to take part, but oh well x]

And don't worry about the high lvl bosses, they aren't included in this because I know very very few people in cts do them.

O for points could do +1 for each individual piece, and +3 (?) for completing all of a bosses drops, then +5 for completing the sections I guess, (GWD / Misc)

Mono is an obligatory joinee.

So is Runar.

I am not joining this I suck at soloing bosses and qbd can fkn do 1would rather do 200m agi in rsc than donqbd (besides for when I need the trim req from qbd)

Was planning to do arma duos with a friend cus lootshare is apparently best for ability drops then I shall consider this but tbh I will join, I just lack the motivation. Maybe after 200m dg
Trim completionist as of August 7th 2015

Probably burnt out atm

i'll have to think about it, I'll prolly end up doing it considering most of the stuff I have left for comp will take forever lol.
I'll include my boss kills tab just incase.
