How to organise your bank by HomeScape
« on: April 01, 2014, 20:31:56 »
Hey guys, HomeScape here with another guide, In this guide i will show you how to organise your bank.

Some benefits you might have by organising your bank are:

Faster banking for PVM and PVP
Know what you have, how many you have
Great looks
Always some space to store new items

1. The cleanup
If you want to organise your bank, you first have to start by selecting items you want or must keep. If you scan all items ask yourself: Do i really need this item?
  • Scan your bank for all items
  • Ask yourself: Do i ever use this item? If you do not need or use an item, try to sell it if its worth any, if not drop it.
  • Try to select wich items are from quests, make a selection of items you used and will need in the future, or items you used once and can be desroyed now.

2. Starting to organise
Personaly when i clean my bank i collapse all tabs, you can do this by right-clicking a tab and choosing collapse. Now all of your items should be in one main tab.

now start making a list, this list should look somthing like this:
  • General items
  • PVM and PVP armour
  • Potions
  • Aura's
  • Skilling supplies
  • Quest items
  • Skilling/bonus xp outfits
  • Misc.

3. Starting to put it back together
Now you have your list, look at the amount of items you have and decide wich items you would like to have at the top, and bottem of your total bank overvieuw.
Quote
TIP! If you leave your main tab empty and start with your second tab, any new items will add to your main tab and wont interfear with any of your organised tabs.

3.1
Place all your items in the tabs, the way of placing doesnt matter just yet. Once all your items are in the tabs move towards the next step.

4. The next step
I personally start with my potions, i only use flasks so i have 6 slots per flask. 6/5/4/3/2/1 dosed flasks. You should start off by drinking a dose of each flask, and get all 6 versions of this item. You can place all your flasks in a horisontal line and fill up the ends with 4 random items - that have somthing to do with each other. Do this for all flasks you have until all items you want to add with your flasks are used up. If you have more items then flasks, try buying some random flasks from the ge, or have another peek in your bank.

5. Buying more items is organising too!
If you need to buy more items to fill up a gap, please do! Just make sure you dont buy too much useless items!

6. After you have finished your first (or second if you leave the main tab open) tab, then try organising other tabs, i cant really help you it depends on your items!

Please take a look at those screenshots of my bank, and try to see what i did there.

in this screenshot you can see the points i've come up with.

In this screenshot you can see my messy main tab, i just started a really fast cleanup and i didnt manage to sort all these items out, this tab should be limited to having ~20 items that you use very often or dont want to put away.

in this screenshot you can see a nice example of a tab that will stay as it is, however some parts are missing. This brings me to the point of stacking. Some items can stack, this means you can have 2 or more in one spot. If you can only have one item, do not put this in the middle of your tab because it will dissapear often (if you take it out) and will leave your tab messy. in this tab you can see my flasks, those flasks wont dissapear, i have enough of them stacked. However, you can see my shields, those shields will degreade, this means that i cannot have 2 in one spot. I placed those shields in the middle of the tab, this is bad, however i dont plan on using those, they are just there to fill the spot. You can also see i'm missing my ranged boots and gloves, this is because i have only one set of them, to not mess up my tab i used the switch option to replace my boots and gloves with junk items from my main tab so my tab stays intact. You can also see how organised every item is, every urn is in place, free to grab. Also i have 2 charming imps and 2 boncrushers, so those stay in place.

This is my skill supply tab, and also the last tab i will be showing. In this tab you can see i have lined up all kind of items sorted by its kind. However a "coal bar" doesnt exist, so the bar that should be under the coal has temporarely been replaced by a junk item. This spot is ready to be filled up with a item that belongs in that spot, i just need to rework my tab so i have somthig that fits there.

Thanks for reading my small guide on how to organise your bank, i know i cant help you THAT much because every bank is diffrent. For the best result, dont keep everything you "might" need! also think about storing your pets in your house (POH), dropping quest items you no longer need, and fill up your toolbelt!

Best of luck,

HomeScape
