Hello, As some of you may or may not know, my name's Jamie and I've recently become a member of consentus.
I'm currently in year 13, the last planned year of my education (I have no plans on attending a University) and as of now, am not keeping up with all my college coursework. Alongside this, i've sent off my Army Application and am planning on joining the Air Assault part of the Infantry, also known as the Para's. In order to do this, I really need to get ahead of my fitness as they're the hardest part of the army to get into, fitness wise that is, as well as finish my course at the maximum grade.
Unfortunately at the moment I cannot find or gain the motivation to do so, I come home, load runescape and then eat dinner, play some more and go to bed with the occasional piece of fitness in-between. I have no plans on leaving consentus and will definitely come on from time to time, I just thought I should let everyone know my reasons as to why I won't be on as much. I will still lurk the forums though, just because it's what I do. ;)
Finally i'd like to say thanks to a few clan members who've helped me out along the way. Firstly, Amy and Jordan who got me to join this clan in the first place, you're both good friends and I thank you for that. I'd also like to thank Alex for helping me with all the applications and Mathi for helping me with this decision. I'd also like to thank consentus as a whole, as you're all nice people to talk to and bond with. In regards to my road to max thread, it will be continuing, just at a very slow pace.

Good luck with your final year of college and getting into the army. Real life should always come first.
It's nice to see you won't be leaving us.

Best of luck Jamie, hope you pass everything with flying colours! (Excuse the pun please).
What type of fitness are you doing at the moment and when you say you're required a level of fitness to get into the Army, how do they test this? I'm pretty interested. ^ ^

At the moment just casual runs, daily pressups/situps/plank/leg raises - morning/evening.
Also, getting in isn't the hard part, it's just a timed 1.5mile run + Situps, Press-ups and Chin-ups. It's more the passing through training :P This should give you a better insight than what I can:

Also, that's for the paratroopers, not infantry, infantry is piss ;)

Pegasus Company (P Coy) is located at the Infantry Training Battalion in Catterick, North Yorkshire.
Something like that is located a mere 15 minute drive away from where I live?!
Reading that it looks way more physically demanding than you make it seem. :P

It's where all infantry training goes on, so if I manage to get in that's where i'll be going :) Totally won't come and find you >.> <.< :D

All the best and good luck. I was in the army for a year and two months in the light dragoons i was discharged because i decided id had enough. My reason for doing so was family and i met the woman im now have a baby with. Its a great career and you meet loads of great people even if your trained to murder and get screamed at 18 hours a day. Good luck with the fitness part if your training up prior it shouldnt be to hard for you !

Good luck getting into the army, Jamie :D
Make sure to keep us up to date on how it goes :)

Will do :) I have to wait around 4 months until anything fitness comes about as far as i'm aware, so... 4 months to buckle up and get it sorted. :)

You should consider 99 Mage, Hitpoints and Prayer before going into the army.. might be helpfull out there.
