I played it for a few months last year but ended up drifting away from it, it's a very nice game though

I've played the game since its open beta. Definitely a fun game. I don't play it crazy amounts but enough to usually hit rank 13-10 every month. Sometimes when I am training an afk skill on RS, I might play a bit more or watch streams. Usually just tournaments if there are any on. I love the rng moments that make the chat go crazy spamming esports haha.

I've amassed quite a big collection of cards, and have most playable epics and lower rarity cards, and quite a few legendaries too, although still missing a few I'd like to have. My most played class is Druid with about 140 ranked wins, Shaman's a close second.

Really looking forward to the upcoming expansion, too. I have the 50 card pack bundle preordered, and can't wait to get to open them!

Are the expansions worth it?

I usually play it for an hour or two a day. It definitely reignited my love for card games!

Are the expansions worth it?

Currently, it's a little bit difficult to say what's worth it since with the release of the next expansion, they will be introducing formats to the game. The oldest two expansions, Naxxramas and Goblins vs. Gnomes, won't be usable in the new standard format which will be the main format of the game, and the one new players are recommended to play since a smaller number of cards will be usable there. No one knows what the metagame of the new format will be like, so currently overlooked cards might become viable and currently powerful cards might lose synergies that made them powerful. Some omnipresent basic and classic cards, which will always be usable in standard, are going to get nerfed too.

I'm referring both to different card sets and the solo adventures as expansions. You've probably already bought some packs from different sets if you've been playing for a few days. Packs are probably the best use of gold for new players since it will take a while before you start getting loads of duplicates. The solo adventures (Blackrock Mountain and League of Explorers in standard) definitely contain some useful cards, and are worth looking into. Although the gold prices might seem a little steep (3500g for all of Blackrock and 2800g for all of LoE), so if you're ever going to spend money on the game, these should be considered. Not all classes benefit equally from each expansion though, so which adventure is better comes down to personal preference really.
