Thoughts on Watch Dogs: Legion?
« on: October 29, 2020, 17:22:23 »
Just got Watch Dogs: Legion on the Xbox One. So far I really like some of the concepts it has such as being able to recruit nearly every NPC possible in the game help you through. I broke into a government building with a construction worker and so on. I've been looking for a good 'futuristic' game to play until Cyberpunk 2077 comes out (whenever that is).I give it a solid 8/10 a few missions in so far because the mechanics are solid but the game lacks in its storytelling and mission variety.

Although I want to ask: For those from London, how representative or accurate is the depiction of the city and accents? I find them quite exaggerated sometimes but do love the dry humour. As an Australian, I feel like I can relate much more haha!

I was actually watching a stream of Watch Dogs: Legion while working today and found some of the voice acting to be really weird. From what I understand there are potentially thousands of recruits out there in the game, but only a handful of voice actors. Their voice recordings have been fed through modulators to create 'unique' voices for all these recruits.

An NPC said "Twat waffle" (LUL) . Just 'twat' is accurate  ;)

It is geeky but I really enjoyed spotting the famous buildings in London. As far as I can tell it looks pretty accurate to me.

Yeah there was a scene the same voice actor was talking to each other which was so strange. I would have loved to hear regional variations too and even international voices. Its so funny though because I've heard so many 'sod off' and 'bellend' shouts throughout the game. But honestly, nailing the landmarks, climbing them was amazing. Lets just say theres a mission that involves drones and the Eye which was absolutely iconic!

I've only watched a friend stream it but it looked pretty fun! I just more or less only play rs or a few quick round games like rocket league so I probably wont be getting it but it peaked my interest watching some gameplay

It was funny watching a preview of WD:L and seeing more drone type gameplay it seems every game we get from Ubisoft now features drones. I’d maybe pick up Legion in a future Ubi sale.
