Dungeons & Dragons
« on: October 24, 2018, 17:59:32 »

Evening fellow clan mates!
I would like to put forward the idea of trying to get a clan D&D community together...

We all play this amazing RPG game, so I wanted to try and introduce others to this truly limitless tabletop RPG game. Some of you may know about Dungeons & Dragons before, some of you may not know anything about it. So forgive me whilst I enlighten the folks who don't know anything about it.
Dungeons and Dragons is a table-top role playing game, where the only limits are what you can create and think of. You create you're own character, based on determined races and classes and Role play his/her traits, feelings, emotions, backstory and actions. To quote Devan Duree from an article he wrote on The Inner Gamer
"I often describe D&D instead as a story told by a group of people in their collective imaginations. There are rules and guidelines to follow and they are enforced by the Dungeon Master, who simultaneously narrates player action, dialogue and the like. As a player, the rules you follow and the actions you commit are all determined by a series of dice rolls. The die you roll vary depending on which version of D&D you decide to play and can have anywhere from 4 to 20 sides."

Now, whilst this all sounds great. The only problem with it? - You need OTHER PEOPLE to play it.
I haven't been playing Dungeons and Dragons for very long, around about 5-6 months, so I have MUCH to learn and I'm sure there are people in the clan who could have possibly played it for years!
There are methods that we can use to determine die rolls and play on maps etc online, so we can start looking into them if there is sufficient interest?

So after all that, what I'm trying to say is...

Would you guys be interested in playing D&D? Veterans and newcomers welcome...

I will take up the mantle of DM'ing and creating a story for people to play through. But I want to see who's interested here! So if you are interested in learning/playing this truly amazing game, please leave a comment down below and/or send me a PM on forums, discord or RS. If I get enough people, we can start looking into making this an actual thing! If it doesn't get much attention then that's fine too. But I'd like to see if people are up for it (:
Peace out Adventurers.

I LOOVE D&D!  Yes!  Absolutely!

You've got DM covered which is fine.  If you ever want a second opinion or some story input, hit me up!  I love writing storylines!

I dont really understand what it is

To put it in it's simplest form, you make a character, complete with a background, personality, traits, ideals, quirks everything a person has.
I'll give you a game, "campaign" or story to follow, and you do whatever your character would do in that situation.

The reason I say it's limitless is because, unlike games where there is a certain amount of content. YOU make up what your character says and does. Does it go to the local Tavern? Does it ask the guards for any work? Does it start to look for buildings to steal from?
There is an end goal that I or another game host will have in mind. But it's completely up to, where your character goes and what they do.
