What's your opinion on the Royal family?

What is your opinion of them? Do you care about the wedding?

Would love to hear peoples opinions, and it's often said that Americans love the royal family, is this really true?



Personally I can't stand them and would love to see them abolished.

Can agree more, they cost us millions and this wedding is a joke.

I'll be watching the wedding, cause i like meghan as an actress.
as for the royal family in general, i dont have any strong feelings either way really

I'm indifferent about the royals too. I understand the need for the tourism they provide the country but it is very frustrating that taxpayers money is used to fund things like the recent palace renovations (£300m) and now this wedding. They are the richest family in the country and should not be taking from the system in this manner.

I am glad they are moving with the times though, it is great to see both princes marrying non-royals and Harry somebody of another ethnicity. Very progressive. Maybe they are concerned about becoming too out of touch :)

Really couldn't care less.

Can't wait for it to be over so the TV goes back to normal.

I read somewhere that two-thirds of the UK don't care about the royal wedding. No source though, so take that with a pinch of salt.

Honestly don't know much about them so I really have no interest. To me it's a wedding and is blown way out of proportion.

I will say though that before Meghan Markle was famous, I knew her from one of my favorite TV shows in America... Suits.
From season 1 in 2011 she was my "celebrity crush" and now she's blown up into such an icon lol.

I don't know much about England's royal family, but I appreciate ours and the preservation of history. As far as the economic arguments go, the appanage (in Sweden) is by conservative estimates lower than the PR value they provide. Perhaps that's the case for UK as well? Consider also what presidential politics would be like if they were abolished. How much tax money do those elections cost and does it even benefit democracy?

Always seems like other countries care more than us. Everyone they interviewed at Wills wedding in 2011 in London came over from other countries to see it.

I second this Dec, don't really care but looks like times are changing.. and the media doesn't help

Edit: He has done alot for armed forces charities etc and the Invictus games; along with humanitarian work

It all over American Tv.   I just cant  stand all the talk about them , it has nothing to do with American news so why put so much important on them on American tv . I two think it should be abolished. Marriott hotel gave my mom the day off just to watch the wedding. 
I am getting ready for my brother wedding rather then the royals.

Had it on at work today, no matter what you think about the royal family... Think we can all agree Megan looked absolutely stunning. ^^
