So with VR upon us now, and it's expected that huge companies will be investing heavily into this, from Sony, Facebook, and already the Porn industry is investing. Just to name a few.

Will it take off and be a real game changer in the way we use the Internet or will it flop?

I think it depends on how far they can take it beyond the current level.

It won't change the internet.

Not everyone is going to buy the concept of virtual reality, and at what cost does VR come at.

I think only a select few would bother forking for VR. Whether it is for the hardcore gamers, or the porn fanatics.

I think in maybe 10 years, sure it'll be all the rage. Not any time soon though, because it's way too expensive.

Definitely, once the VR resolution gets higher! Right now a regular setup is probably favourable. What's the max res on VR? 1080 x 1200 per eye at 90 hz? The higher refresh rates of VR is pretty nice as well

VR crap doesn't interest me. I hope it flops though. It's just like expensive hi rez TV's with all the gimmick 3D crap. It's expensive as hell, and we're not ready for it just yet.

I don't think it looks too bad :P I would like to try it, it looks cool and useful for multitasking, but I don't think I would want my eyes that close to a screen of any kind really. How much is it selling for?

I find this very Interesting. I don't believe it will be very popular until they bring something much better out in maybe 20 years or more, then this VR will be accessible to everyone financially speaking. The technology in this will continue get better so who knows .

One pretty sweet benefit that gamers would probably notice is the 90 hz (not sure if all VRs have that, but I believe it's standard). Most people use a 60 hz monitor. This means they will only see 60 FPS. Having e.g. 100 FPS on the NXT client doesn't really mean anything if your monitor can't render the frames for you

I don't know what the max frame rate is for vr devices but most screens are 60hz and usually only gamers look for screens with 100hz and more so if vr comes with 90hz by default its nice indeed

Vr is evolving parallel to those panorama filming cameras and videos like you can find on YouTube nowadays plus 4k res screens so its being very interesting to see this evolution and how they all together bring new ways of interaction
