Both of my parents are doctors, I do know what I am talking.

An afghan top level doctor fled from his country to live in the Netherlands. Wanna know what he does now? He's cleans toilets for a living. It's not the same everywhere.

I do get where you're coming from, seeing as you're a sports fanatic. But you simply cannot compare athletic talents to intelligence.

Well I may have to add that I will finish school wiht good results.

Also, my Mum is a nurse and my work experience in late June-early July is medical practice in a certain aspect so I will actually experience a little bit of what it takes. If athletes are really that much more worthy and important than medical care - lets just scrap all the medical care and focus more on the athletes? Also, when athletes attain injuries - who is there to help them? DOCTORS. NURSES. SURGEONS. Some of these athletes wouldn't be back on that pitch if it weren't for them. Don't they deserve a thank you?

Talking about salary differences almost always causes trouble...

at the end of the day, people are willing to pay more for footballers as there are only a few 'amazing' ones and with them on there team they have a better chance of winning things witch makes them more money and people come to see them. the amount of good footballers in the world isnt huge however, the amount of doctors and nurses are in the millions. if there were only like a few thousand nurses in the world they would be getting paid high as they would be in need. All depends on supply and demand.

Fact: 'There are about 60 million health workers worldwide' due to so much supply there are so many people doing the job when someone is employing someone they would pick someone who is cheaper and as so much competition there salary arent as high as top footballers. as there are only a few thousand of those.

Nurses, Care Workers, teaching assistants are mainly female dominated careers, has this something to do with less pay?

Explain to me why female footballers who train just as hard as males earn a fraction of what their male counterparts do.

people pay to go watch men footballers. the teams make more money from sales from tickets/ selling shirts and stuff from the men then the women. no one really watches women football. its just how it is

Firstly, what's wrong with you?
Secondly, top athletes are mentally so strong that they can come back after recovering. Watch Muamba, he was 'dead' 78 minutes and he may come back to the pitch next year.

Can we conclude that, in general, entertainment is more important than saving lives?

I believe there is talent in every field of profession. There probably is a doctor whose talent in medicine is equivalent to C. Ronaldo in football, but why doesn't that doctor make as much money? While they both are a scarce resource to their employer, only one of them makes a fortune. People are only going to care enough to support the doctor's salary if it's their life on the line.
