Title: Steely Dan vs. Fleetwood Mac

So my mother has always tried to convince me that both have the same sound, and that's why she doesn't like either of them.  Personally I feel like they are very different styles of music, still in the same genre, but different.  Fleetwood Mac I find to have some "slower" songs, not necessarily in tempo, but in voice and other types.  Steely Dan I feel has a rougher sound.  I like Fleetwood Mac more.

So, which do you prefer?  do they sound the same?  Just wondering

I must admit I am not a fan of either, BUT if I hadd to choose Id be a Fleetward Mac fan

Judging purely on the two songs Lilly posted, I also say Fleetwood Mac.
