Standing up for something besides yourself.
« on: March 12, 2012, 19:31:20 »
This topic is starting to really anger me because frankly, nobody in the damn world stand up for anything besides themselves anymore. If it doesn't concern them, they couldn't give a single fuck.

People really need to stop being so selfish. it angers me. I'm not going to give myself much self credit but I always attempt to put others before myself but then again that's because I have really low self esteem and I know for a fact that almost anybody in the world can do better things than I can.

That's besides the point....
I want to share what happened to me today and why I was almost suspended.

I had a normal and boring day today. Nothing out of the ordinary...but we happened to have a substitute in one of my classes. We got a worksheet and as usual, nobody asked to work on it with me but I don't care, I'm used to it. I got done with the worksheet before everyone and went up to the teacher's desk and sat the paper there like he asked and went and sat back down.
About 5 minutes later, he yelled at me for not working on my work. Me, not being in a good mood what so ever and being as depressed as I was today just lost it.
I replied in a slow and calm voice to him these exact words,
"I've been done working for a while bud. If you weren't so God damn incompetent perhaps you would have saw me bring the paper up to the desk. You're supposed to watch the class correct? It's one of the teacher's duties after all. Keep it up. You're doing great!"

He looked at me with a really stunned expression on his face along with almost all of my other class mates. One girl who believes she's just an angel and perfect all the time spoke up and said to me.
"I can't believe you'd say that to a teacher!"
I replied in a rather angry and disgusted tone,
"I didn't realize that it's bad to stand up for yourself let alone something you whore."
I sat back down and ignored everyone as I listened to my music.

Overall all I want to ask is, why does nobody stand up for ANYTHING? I don't understand. We're willing to fucking constantly piss and moan but not do anything about it? I just don't understand.

Please tell me what you guys and girls have to say about this.
I realize what I said to all of them was a bit over the top but I really do not regret it.
-Cameron.

Sure, stand up for yourself, just don't do it in the manner you did. Doesn't solve anything.

Although I can agree with you, it's like the whole Kony thing. It's nice to see people still participating in it and sharing it as much as they were last week! Oh... wait... they aren't. That's the world for you, like it or not. Want something done, do it yourslf, just make sure you go about it the correct way and not lower yourself to others standards.

I agree with you. It's annoying to have people not caring about anything than themself. I don't do that tho, I care about other's more than I do about me, because my future is pretty much decided already, but I want to do an impact on other's around me.

It's good that you stood up for yourself, and I'm proud at you.  The same kind of thing happened to me when I told my science teacher to stop trying to act black long enough to learn her subject properly.  Here's an example why people should stand up: The Holocaust was started by Hitler, and no one tried to stop him, they just let it go.  While people in Germany should have stood up, other countries should have too.  USA seems to have a history of "It's okay if you do it to people in your own country."

Cam, just keep doing what you're doing.
You're here for a reason
Living and breathing
If you keep on trying, someday you'll find out why
If I love you, I miss you cause I probably haven't seen you in a
Long, long time

Just don't let it be the last time
You come into my life
No, don't let it be the last time
You come into my life

I'm sorry but I'm not sure of what I just read. Is this real life?

If this were a government, you'd be on the streets. That's an incredibly silly thing to say. "No one tried to stop him" Are you joking me? Like, really?

Sorry but plenty of people tried to stop him including the German's, even though he killed many of them too. Lots of Germans didn't agree with what he was doing.

It wasn't over the top at all, i personally think that teachers are like dictators, and 'class angels' are just brainwashed by them, i lost respect for one teacher i have on polish subject, she asked one 'angel' about some book, he didn't reply at all so she said that he is not listening, besides that did nothing, she asked me, and i said i don't know so she told me that she will make me an exam next day, got so pissed at her.

That's kinda the point... To be in charge and make sure they do their job. I wouldn't call it dictatorship, just a hard leader.

during ww2, the beliefs were not taken in by the majority of persons.
those who ever spoke out did get killed too
england etc did attempt to stop it and here we are today.

standing up for yourself is always a good thing.
admittedly you could have done it a tad less rude, but i can understand your frustration.
your points were correct ofc ;)
the girl may have been shocked too, if i was in that class with you, i would have been shocked you said that too :P

proud that you stood up for yourself. but in standing against a hurt, its important not to ever hurt any other in the process :P

Good on you for standing up for yourself. :) You didn't have to call the girl a whore though and you could've done it in a politer way but knowing me I'd have probably lashed out the same way - if not, worse. :P
