Next step in the evolution of bathing suits?
« on: August 01, 2013, 02:37:44 »
Over the years, bathing suits have taken a drastic change. For example, in the 1800's, this was the typical attire for a woman on the beach:

However during the 1980's we began seeing more of this:

And finally in the 21st century we, we started seeing more of this:

What is the next step? Will women just give up on bathing suits and claim that they are just "too expensive" or "too much of a hassle", or could the cycle possibly go in reverse?

I find it quiet embarrassing to watch women turning like this

if you are beautiful, then you don't have to show us your body :-\

I don't thinks it will go any further than this. There are plenty of costumes to wear already in different styles, and not all bikinis are as exposing as the one posted lol :)

Women on beaches in Denmark mostly lay around on the beach with no top on. ;)

Honestly, don't get the problem with the way they are now. If you're happy about your look, why not show it off? Shows confidence. You don't need to go completely nude, but it's honestly not that much of a problem.

Personally this doesn't effect me as I wouldn't be wearing one.
Although..

I feel that women are exposing their bodies sometimes way more than what they should be, but that's just the way we're evolving.
Different styles of clothing change these things and it's hard to control.

The last picture from this Century is showing a very revealing bikini rather than most, and I think that this might have a stand still.
I don't see it changing where people wear nothing.

I believe that it's their choice to dress like that, and causes no harm so it's fine.

I'd feel different if they were naked on beaches though, but the current state, in my opinion, is fine
