What are your thoughts on organ donation?

I think organ donors are some of the bravest people there are, people that sacrifice a part of themselves for in some cases a random person needing a match, I know this isn't the same but it was like my Nan's bone marrow transplant, someone wanted to give a bit of them for someone in need.

I don't think I'd have the balls to donate an organ unless of course it came down to someone I really cared about or someone I knew needed an organ I had a match to, is that wrong?

I put all organs down on my driving license thing so if I were to be in an accident they could take my organs for someone who may need.

I registered to be an organ donor when I applied for my driving license. If I can help someone if I were to die, then that would be great. After all, they would be no use to me when I'm gone.

I think if it were a close family member or friend in need, then I would consider donating a kidney or something whilst alive, and I would hope they would think the same were the situation the other way round.

Like other people on this thread, when I applied for my provisional driving licence I ticked the box about donating all of my organs when I die. I am willing to donate my organs to somebody in need when I'm dead as they will be of no use to me.

I would only want the same if I was in their position.

When I die, I don't mind where my organs end up. Chop me up and donate those bad boys!

If you turn your driving license to the back, and look below where it says what you can drive, there should be a number saying 115. If there is, then you are a registered donor At least that is what my provisional is like

I have the same views, if I'm dead of course they can take what they need.. I think I ticked the box to when I got my licience to.

Nah, I don't have 115 on my license. I looked it up and it seems it only started from August 2011 which was a couple years after I got mine.

when im still alive... it depends. my uncle has needed a kidney transplant for years and my other uncle (his twin brother) donated one of his.

I'm an organ and blood donor. They can have my blood regularly but the organs are going to have to wait until the brain's gone.

The story was interesting and while I can understand wanting to meet the person who was allowed to live because of your daughter, listening to the heart was a little odd. I don't think organs hold any real part of a person but clearly it was important to them.
