A Book, what's that?
« on: January 09, 2016, 17:33:56 »
Do you read books? Ever?

I'd like to hear how much you read, and what you read. Do you find it fun? boring?

If audio books count, I "read" a fair bit. For example, I've listened to the top 10 on this list (except Discworld) and many more:

If you enjoy fantasy, definitely read 2 and 3 on that list. 11 has a nice style too, you don't find many quality books  written in first person narrative (in the fantasy genre).

While a song of ice and fire is great, I personally think the game of thrones tv show is better.

I don't read a lot during school.  But each summer I try and beat my record, which so far is 9 books.

I one day hope to own a whole library of nothing but books I've read :D

Fav:  Gatsby, night circus, Hobbit.

Why haven't you read disk world?! I've only read the first, but from what I hear from friends, it's their favourite fantasy series!

Also, just because, you should read 'Flatland' or at least youtube the movie of it.

I didn't find it in audio format when I was initially looking for it. Might look again after the current book I'm listening to :P

A lot of fans make animated films about it, so if you can't find the eBook, might as well just watch a movie!:D

I definitely enjoy reading but only when I have no other commitments that need my immediate time. If I do read, it's almost always a handheld book, not a Kindle or anything electronic. I'd like to think it's for the essence of the book... but it's probably because I just don't own any electronics that are solely for reading. :P
