Scrolling through the article and reading some assumptions on Reddit, I think it's safe to assume that they may make Chinese an official language.

Runescape Remastered is what I was actually hoping an investment from a Chinese company would produce. It sounds like it will be a complete rework of Runescape in a 3D immersive world. So think World of Warcraft or any other MMO for that matter. It will probably be client downloaded and so the performance would be superior to the version we have now.

Very exciting prospect if it is that to be honest. Though I wonder if it will be a standalone game or if they will allow us to use our existing account/stats on it.

i mean it would be cool to see rs in that aspect but i like how it is now.....if they make it like wow that means there will be xpacs and having to constantly upgrade your desktop to run it....

Interesting to see that Jagex is really pushing Runescape as a brand by adding in an rpg like Final Fantasy Tactics. The Runescape Remastered could easily change rs3 into wow, Which would allow for mounts and things like that because the game itself would be larger.

well if it released i will need to buy better graphics card and prob replace my processors what im running now is stock and cant run wow so....

Your aware that the current RS client is a native c++ application, right?

not sure about this. I wasn't an early adopter of eoc, however when i got to know it a bit i did really like it. However I wonder what would happen to the current game if the produced a more superior version of runescape. I feel runescape is heading in a positive direction, and I'm not sure people would follow jagex if they took the path of WOW style gameplay. However i am speculating, just from what i have seen in the past the community really didn't like change. I would consider whether i should keep playing if it did enter that phase, however who knows what it would do, i guess it could draw in a big playerbase as well, so who knows.

RS Tactics will be a classical tactics (think FFX) based game, likely for mobile users.

Remastered won't affect the current game, it'll be a spin-off of something else. Like the waste of time that is Chronicle.

C'mon, we saw what happened (or didn't) with Mechscape/Stellar Dawn and Transformers Universe. It's all a big advertising gimmick for now.
