at a guess its the rare drop table and if so that's worse imo

At a guess:

The first "RDT" would be a commonly accessed drop table.

The second "SRDT" would be a new RDT with less common drops, but with more valuable drops.

As far as I can see this is just updating how the RDT works, as, AFAIK this is basically how it works anyway, with a few very rare drops and a few much more common ones.
