We have a top 10 best updates for you, so now we also have a top 10 worst updates for you.

These are 10 updates I either didn't like or I thought were simply not living up to expectations.

10. Runescape 3, at the start I found it really confusing and I'm used to it by now but I still don't like how it looks and how sometimes my things just randomly move or become smaller. I can't wait for the Legacy/EoC match up.

09. Dimension of Disaster, I liked the idea of the quest but I didn't like the way they did it. It's simply just using older quests that leads up to a very basic and easy boss fight. In my opinion they could have done much more with it.

08. Skillcape rework, yea yea I know you can toggle it to old since today but still they didn't look at all like the concept art so when they got released they were extremely bad looking.

07. Wilderness removal, back in the days I actualy did pk even tho I was a low level but after the wilderness got removed I never got back into it even after it's return.

06. Warbands, this update is bullshit and you know it it unbalanced the game since skillers always have an edge since they can't be pk'd by the higher level players and it made getting xp alot easier for certain skills.

05. Free trade removal, when it came it was fucked but it's back so it's k.

04. Branches of Darkmeyer, fuck this quest.

03. Rock Climbing boots, some might think wtf but others will know what i'm talking about. The boots that made alot of people very rich.

02. Treasure Hunter/Squeal of Fortune, yea cause you know buying xp and shit. This thing did more bad than good to runescape so I wouldnt mind to see it removed.

01. EoC, huh ? Didn't I put this as number 1 as best updates of all time aswell. Yea that's true but it's both best and worst update of all times. It did make bossing more 'exiting' and faster, but it also made it so much easier. Every pre-eoc boss is simply not strong enough to deal with eoc and with slayer and cb becomming faster than ever it made combat very unbalanced.

06. Warbands, this update is bullshit and you know it it unbalanced the game since skillers always have an edge since they can't be pk'd by the higher level players and it made getting xp alot easier for certain skills.

Skillers can still get killed in the wilderness during Warbands actually, once you loot supplies anyone can attack you, regardless of your combat levels; there was certainly a point where that wasn't that point but Jagex updated wilderness to make it harder and to try and balance it out. I don't think Warbands is very bad though as it's somewhat revived PvP due to how competitive it is. I do agree though that its made it a lot easier to get 99's or 120's in some of the buyable skills  - i feel like its devalued achievements a lot in my opinion.


I'll probably come back to this thread with my list of horrible updates when I have the time to think about it.

That's true right now but same as the wilderness removal and free trade removal it has existed it that way and that's what made the update so bad. But it's since been a bit more balanced but I don't think it revived pvp at all since most people that pvp do so on legacy only worlds.

Warbands is the worst update for me, I think it hit the nail on the coffin for devaluing every other 99 that hadn't already been devalued.

Warbands - as has been mentioned previously

Solomons/Treasure hunter - tbh I wouldn't mind it if they weren't constantly being plugged with every update

Elemental workshop 3 - this quest was so annoying and both times I completed it, I hated every second with a burning passion

Those ugly ass skillcapes from the other week

Hitpoints -> Constitution - pretty sure everybody still calls it hitpoints :p

I couldn't think of 10 updates that have been really bad for me personally, so I'll go with the main ones:
1. Squeal of fortune/Treasure hunter
2. Bonus XP (the way it gets stacked from minigames & TH)
3. Warbands
4. Runespan
5. Silverhawk boots

For me it has to be:
 
1-Warbands
2- constition
3-Dung
4- SoF
5- Interface - pretty much have to use Eoc interface for skilling
6-Minigames- the ones that give stupid XP like the big chin and FF
7-Bonus Exp
