A recent post on the Runescape Reddit, suggest that Jagex should make the guilds in Runescape more useful and beneficial in order to get people spread out around the map and using different locations.



As it currently stands, most people prefer to train near a portable location which can be usually found in Lumbridge combat academy or the Shantay Pass in Al Kharid.

It was also suggested that in order to make the guilds great again, they should be "should be the best spot to train any of the individual skills". Some have even suggested that the guilds should give bonuses, similar to portables, or perhaps increasing ones XP gain for said skill.

What do you think? Is it a waste of dev time, or is it a pretty solid idea?

If it's better xp than portables I'm for it.

I've not read the topic, but if the suggestions to make them useful simply revolve around having the best XP rates in the game, the argument falls short because people will simply be crowding the guilds instead of portables.

Ehhh, I've never heard of anyone going to buy spins for portables. I don't know why anyone would either as they're cheap and you can come across them in-game easily.

If people's going to buy spins, it's for something rare and valuable, like the rainbow cape, or an OP EXP promotion.

I agree, I rarely ever use the guilds, places like prif and menaphos have made their use obsolete...
