If you've ever had to make an alt account on RS (for e.g. RAF bonus) you've probably gone through the inconvenient process of creating a new email account (only to later forget what email you signed it up to).

Fortunately there's a simple way around this. You can just add e.g. "+1" to the email when you sign up, eg:
[email protected]
[email protected]

All emails will automatically go to [email protected] and it's easier to remember the credentials later! This trick can be used on most websites

How does that work?

It's called plus addressing and it's meant to be used as a way to filter messages in your inbox. For example, you could sign up to all social media using e.g. [email protected] and then in your settings, you can forward all mails going to your_mail+social into a sub-folder and easily find all stuff related to it.

All email providers might not offer this functionality, but the big ones should

I do this with the secret email that I use specifically for Runescape on both of my accounts.

It's good to create a new email with a hard to guess address and super tough password, plus a security key.  This way, if I receive an email on it from anyone besides Jagex/Runescape - it means that my email has been logged somewhere else, which is not what I want.  Versus using my primary account that gets dozens of emails everyday.
