On this day, March 8th 2011, The Artisans Workshop was released. With the release of this update came a massive change to the way people obtained 99 smithing. People would do Artisans Workshop for higher XP rates at a complete loss of resources. Also, with this update came Ceremonial swords which were “high intensity high XP.” The royal cannon was an amazing reward at the time as it allows people to use 90 cannonballs at once instead of the 30 previously which helped tremendously for slayer.

On this day, March 9th 2004, Runescape 2 was still in beta testing stages from Classic. A few of the patches released on this day were The Legends guild quest going online, they added the ability to combine half drunk potions into a single vial, and Made it where lighting different types of logs gave varying firemaking XP. I am certain we are all glad firemaking gives different XP rates for higher level logs now and decanting potions is widely used and helps save a ton of time/bank space.

On this day, March 10th 2010, Runescape had “The Big Ticket” update. People entered by having a valid membership at the time of the draw which was 3pm GMT on March 26th 2010. The purpose of the update was to allow up to 24 exclusive invitations for an all expenses paid trip to Jagex HQ in Cambridge England.

Today, March 10th 2014, Also marks the release of the quest One of a Kind. During its release the quest had some of the highest requirements and offered some of the best rewards. With this quest also came one of my personal favorite slayer mobs, Celestial Dragons. I faintly remember a poll existing where the players got to vote on what type of loot these mobs would drop which was such an amazing idea I wish they would do more of.

On this day, March 11th, 2008, Jagex released the update which introduced the Stronghold of Player Safety into the game. Many players, new and old, are familiar with this stronghold as it is one of the first things new accounts do for the free 10k gold. Any player who has ever played F2P, and some members, will be very familiar with the cockroach soldiers as they were good money and XP when released.

On this day, March 12th, 2013, The Tribute to Guthix was added to the game. During this update you were given some free cosmetics, such as the Sword of Edicts, which were obtained by speaking to Memstix. Also, guthixian butterflies were added for a short period of time to allow you to gather memories of Guthix himself. Finally, the altar outside of the Falador lodestone was created during this event by a game wide donation of 250,000 rune essence. Also, the abilities Frenzy, Flurry, Needle Strike, Dazing Shot, Concentrated Blast, and Sonic wave were added to the game.

On this day, March 13th 2014, The first promotion to introduce the beloved silver hawk boots was added to the game. It wasn't until game change on March 14th the silver hawks were finally available however. As I am certain everyone reading this has used silverhawk boots and enjoys all the free bonus agility experience given while using them.

On this day, Match 14th 2005, Jagex released the Teleport block and Teleother spells. If you have played prior to the EOC update I am sure you are very familiar with these as Teleother was frequently used at the GE for training/trolling. Also, anyone who plays OSRS will be aware of how amazing teleport block is for PvP situations and how it has changed the way people escape various encounters. Also, on this day the quest Merlin’s Crystal was changed. Previously, with it only being an intermediate quest, sent you to a multi-way combat area in the wilderness.

On this day, march 15th 2006, The 100th quest was added to Runescape. During it’s release it was the biggest quest at the time, the quest was Recipe For Disaster. Many people who have played Runescape prior to 2010 will be very familiar with this quest due to the amazing stats of the barrows gloves, which are earned as a reward when you kill the Culinaromancer. Also the gravedigger random event was added.

On this day, March 16th 2015, Jagex released an update which was polled and voted upon, The skillcape Visual Rework. After the release a lot of people did not like them and asked for a toggle for the old style back.

On this day, March 17th, 2004, Jagex released the RS2 Beta to free users. This allowed any non-member players to try RS2 for the first time. The accounts and all stats gained on the RS2 beta were reset upon official release. This update overall has been what allowed Runescape to grow into the amazing game we love today. RS2 is arguably the greatest update this game has ever experienced.
