Is Runescape too easy?

I mean, I'm sure a lot of us agree on this fact now, but I don't know. I think it is WAY too easy compared to anything before.
Just as an example, I saw these images on the RS Reddit. Just look at the stats and game time.

I did like to play sorta for the grind, as weird as it sounds. But after looking at this, I don't know, it makes me feel upset on how fast you can level.
Thoughts?

EDIT: Few things, friends with Destroy and stuff so I'm sure he was funded. Without that I'm sure it would be slightly slower.

i said this a long time ago but it is so true and i will say it again the game gets easier with every update. something like runecrafting that took a few years was shorten to around 2 to 3months of hard grinding . I do really think one day jegex will go full retard and release prayer span or something similar

I'm cool with new methods. Runecrafting desperately needing something besides plan crafting of the runes, however, overall this is just a great example of how fast it really is now.

See, nothing is speeding up for me because I don't do all the new things. My game remains pretty uneffected though lots of people keep overtaking me. it's not something I worry about really, I imagine they're trying to get more people into the game because I can't remember the last time I met a genuinely new player and not someone's second account.

Every time I slug away to get a 99, Jagex brings out something new to make it easy. ( after I get it) Like farming for example, I was just talking to someone at Burth that has got all his farming exp from war bands and lunar. He has never planted a tree lol
I'm proud of the work I have done on my capes. It makes them special; but the thought of someone just doing something so easy and inexpensive to get a cape that I and lots of others have worked hard, and paid 100s of millions for, degrades the meaning of them.

YES. I am quite happy to have an account that is max total without any use of Runespan/Warbands/Squeal/Bonfires/Silverhawks etc etc etc.

But on Stee I will use any of the new and overpowered training "methods" due to the fact they isn't any real point in disadvantaging myself from any "competition"

120 is the new 99. I believe the XP rates of 07 and eoc were compared and it was roughly estimated that 99 all on 07 would be equivalent to halfway to 120 all on eoc.

I can accept that methods and XP rates evolve, although it sucks to look back and remember the thousands of hours I spent at e.g. GOP and Soul Wars and know that time-wise, with today's methods, it was a complete waste. What frustrates me most is that in competitive playing, it comes down to who has most money to spend (in-game and irl) in every single skill. You can basically buy any skill now and it's only going to get worse.

Good point to to all. I mean, I don't play the game for competition by no means. I've never been to one to care if was max level or not. However, it sucks to see that it's just now possible to do what I have on Starve, was like 160 days play time, done in 26 days. I can see the worth of doing it before this like stee, and yeah its pretty dumb not to do it, but I just thought it was more enjoyable without it all.
On reds comment, yeah. Pretty much all can be done with money now. It's upsetting. X)

Runescape was easy to begin with.

They just took away the grind from the game.

Previously armoured zombies 80k/hr with whip and prayers. Today, 600k/hr? Lets not talk about the 1.2m/mage xp hr you get nowdays compared to 65k/hr alching.

Although I am not big on competition, the competition that used to be in the game several years ago was one of the reasons I enjoyed playing continuously. Whenever I try to play now I see people maxed out or close to it like crazy compared to before. I used to get all nerd over seeing a max cape and now'a'days most people speed right past a max cape. The fact that there are so many new, faster methods to train skills is one of the reasons I have a hard time trying to play again. Not to mention as others have said, all you really need is to throw a bunch of IRL money at the game in order to have an unfair advantage over others who don't
