Is OSRS the way to go?
« on: March 13, 2015, 13:16:57 »
I am sure you realise more and more people are playing OSRS, I mean look at our friendly Skype Bots info

55,435 players are currently online:
27,738 on rs3 (50.04%)
27,548 on oldschool (49.69%)
149 on classic (0.27%)

Why is this?

Oldschool seems to have amazing j-mods though. Can't they also do something about the botting situation?

I think the numbers went up drastically after GE was released. I might be wrong, but that's from my observations.

I've been playing osrs a lot more recently, it's definitely refreshing trying out the osrs exclusives and I'm having more fun than I've had in a long time.
But yeah, I think introducing the ge may have helped boost the numbers a bit too

This is fascinating - I guess I hadn't paid much attention to it.  I definitely want to check out OSRS - so I am guessing you have a lot of curious people too.  I don't want to go back to wrestling a million bots (remember training hunting - and the lines of bots at essence mining) so if that is OSRS I probably will stick with RS3...

Better game obviously. \:D/ Every update isn't Solomon's or TH like RS3 is. No bonus xp or easily obtainable huge gains like warbands either.

Do you recall what I said back then? Because I can't remember. The only way I find either game fun now is as an ironman any way. I don't know what I would think of osrs as a normal account. Still better than RS3 of course. Bonus xp completely ruined any point of competing on highscores. Steebrows

You said it wasn't oldschool with all the new minigames and weird bosses they were adding, I had no reason to stop playing osrs though, I just got bored of it. And I agree on the buying xp thing, I just don't care about competing on hiscores anymore on neither games. ^^ But it's good you enjoy ironmanning.

I personally like Old school RS, but when i see how much i've already accomplished on rs3 i just don't want to spend time there when i have a much better account on RS3...and the small screen ofc. ._.
