Guide to editing RS3 interface
« on: July 22, 2013, 23:26:13 »
Just copied this off of iiy's thread so it doesn't get lost.
Let me know if anything needs to be cleared up.
I am leaving in Lilly's quote due to it making more sense with what I said and why I posted the pictures.

I do not like the chat

I do not like how I can see my hp

I do not like how  the chat doesnt scroll

I do not like how it isnt easy to flip from , friends to chat inentory

all in all I really am struggling and 07 looks better and better

First of all, to move any interface you only need to click and drag it. If you want them to stick on one window, just drag it into the same box and they should stack.

Chat is a little iffy, I would prefer if it was all in one like before, but it still works the same. You get a pm / clan message the tab will shine gold.

Hp can be seen if you pull out the Action Bar. You can still have the skills minimized and it will show like this: Also to note, the yellow symbol of the swords crossing near the adred bar is Auto retailiate. You can disable / Enable it there.

Chat not scrolling is a bug, and it will be fixed eventually. A quick fix already is to just lobby and come back, it only happens if you move an interface. You can just lock the interface with a button on this bar:
Also from this bar, you can access whatever interface you do not already have as a quick find. I don't have many of my combat abilities placed yet, so if I needed them I could just hover over the bar and click it

Flipping interface from interface is a matter of how you set it up. With the bar above it is still easy to just get to what you need. Mine is set up so my inventory always shows, but my skills / Equip / Friends list / Clan members are all in one folder.

Chat is set up like this so I can always see what i need to see:

Cody will be able to help you out when he can. Honestly, I'm having zero problems with this.

Result in screen is this:

I'm unsure if you played only on fixed or not, but even with how my set up looks if you hit esc and hit edit mode you'll get this screen:

If you click on '3D World Editing, you're able to resize your game screen to make it fit to what you're used to / what allows you to play without frame rate issues. Refer this picture that I sized down to the one above:

As you can see i do not have my screen overlaying the interfaces, so it is much smaller. This is similar to how Fixed looked, and how the screen was separate from the UI in the corner / chat box.

Also, to get rid of the big titles such as BACKPACK or whatever, go to your settings, under interface check the box that says Slim windows when locked, you can also check the first both to give it a slightly sleeker look.

It makes it look a bit more smooth.

If you have any sort of gameplay interface issues, just hit escape and go to edit mode and click Gameplay HUDs.
You can move a few things on here such as bank interface, your XP tracker, and more. If you refer to the picture above this one, you'll see that I ended up moving where my XP Tracker was located.

________
Here's what I found to be most similar to Fixed. I feel like it's almost exactly the same:

Clan members can be found in the chat bar, same with friends if you wanted to move it there. Combat bar at top can of course be removed if you don't ever use it.

________

Some notes:
Currently you cannot click through windows like you could on the previous resizeable.
I'll look into a low detail window set up to help people who cannot play on a larger screen or anything. I'll go on my laptop tonight as it is pretty low quality.
I will NOT be using this preset for combat. I will create another one soon when I start to work on that.
If you create a layout you like MAKE SURE YOU SAVE IT or else there is a chance that you will have to remake it all.
