Big Game Hunter:
The whole point of the new way to train hunter is to build balistas and bait a dinosaur on a pressure plate so you can shoot it down.
Items needed:
Bait for the different types of dinosaurs (check the skill guide)
Step by step guide:
1. Gather four vines (You can gather those from the yellow looking plants, multiple are present in the arena). These four vines are needed to build the pressure plate and the three balistas.
2. Gather seven jungle logs (You can gather those from two trees inside the arena, they have a yellow-looking fruit on top of them). These seven logs are needed to craft three spears and to build the pressure plate and three balistas together with the jungle vines.
3. Craft three wooden spears
4. Spike the wooden spears with frog venom*
5. Build the balistas and the pressure plates
6. Load the balistas with the spears
7. Put the bait on the pressure plate. Now a cutscene will start in which the dinosaur runs towards the bait, eats it, steps on the pressure plate and gets damaged for 750|15000|30000 (depending on the venom* you used).
8. Skin the dead dinosaur for loot
Notes:
* I've done three dinosaurs myself so far and found the following weaknesses:
> Bagrada Rex - Red venom
> Spicati Apoterrasaur - Blue venom
> Pavosaurus Rex - Red venom
** Just like the elves in Priffdinas the dinosaurs go on a cooldown after you kill them multiple times.
*** Don't sell the meat from lower level dinosaurs if you plan to hunt higher level dinosaurs. The higher level dinosaurs require meat from the lower level dinosaurs as bait.
**** The dinosaurs always walk in the same pattern. When the circle around it disappears it will roar and start running the other way (clockwise | anti-clockwise)
